Mahindra Rodeo vs Suzuki Access
The two 125 scoots face-off

Mahindra 2 wheelers has launched the Rodeo in the 125 scooter segment that has been largely dominated by the Suzuki Access. The Access looks dated while the Rodeo looks more current. Plastics on the Access are better finished while the Rodeo lacks a bit in this aspect. The Access is better built than the Rodeo. Conventionality rules supreme when it comes the Access's instrument cluster while the Rodeo gets a new-age all-digital console that includes a nifty tachometer in addition to the speedo, in addition to other things. Although the motor powering the Rodeo is no puny wimp, the engine grunt of the Access is still the best in the 125cc scooter segment, but now, not by much with the Mahindra coming a very, very close second. The Access has that big scooter feel that the Rodeo does not. Gizmos and features of convenience like a mobile charger and the front fuel filler cap respectively are in plenty on the Rodeo while the Access has none of that. Underseat storage space is abundant in both scooters. Handling of the Access feels more planted while the Rodeo, benefitting from being 3 kg lighter at 106 kg, is feels more agile when throwing it about.

IT IS A USELESS SCOOTER SEEING THE REPUTATION OF MAHINDRA IN THE FOUR WHEEL SEGMENT THEIR SCOOTERS ARE A BLOT IT IS PAST ONE YEAR SINCE I AM USING IT THERE ARE NO GOOD SERVICE CENTERS I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED THE STARTER RELAY AND BATTERY IN THIS PERIOD BUT IT DOES NOT START ON SELF I HAVE TO USE THE KICK START THE MILEAGE IS PATHETIC 20 TO 30 KMS IN A LITRE GROUND CLEARANCE IS USELESS.

Rodeo is very nice in speed and looks.... rodeo keeps the access much behind in the drag.. the access can reach at the topspeed of 100 km/h but rodeo hits the topspeed of 122km/h....... I had a nice experience with rodeo when I took it's test drive..

Hi Just took a test drive of rodeo.. Had rodeo to hit all possible bumps (small to large, as I could find) at variable speed and I must say there is no issue with the ground clearance of this bike as being reported by some people. The bike never touched any bump and shocks did their job just brilliantly. So DO NOT worry about it at all. Liked the ride quality though found it little light on handle which I think is ok for ladies. the build quality isn’t best but quite good and brakes are good too.. So not a bad bike and I might go for it (going to test drive Wego today :D)..

i want to know the approx. price of Mahindra RODEO..what average it gives....

Let me know whether mahindra makes any scooter for handicapped persons even on order. Presently, these persons arrange extra 2 wheels on their own making it suitable for driving. On the one hand, the RTOs do not exempt registration fee on such adjustment coz they insist on models manufactured by co. for such persons and sometimes such attachments compromise with quality getting handicapped into trouble on the other.

ROdeo is the best it seems.. bec i'm using Flyte for one year. Extremly super. Mileage around 45kmpl. Looks little bit feminine. Rodeo too has same engine as in Flyte Great technology

I brought Mahindra Duro in Mar2010, Still I'm feeling very dis-comfort while riding (got back-ache) and having less ground clearance, it touches all the road humps. This scooter doesn't have any re-sale value, If I want to sell this scooter. pls don't go for this Duro.Better you go for aceess or activa.

Acess 125 is very good pickup but it's breaking system & for servicing provided by dealer isn't good.
Posted by Gaurav Pandey at 28th July,2010
i had purchase mahindra rodeo 10 days before,it is really a excellent scooty but ground clearance is so so,but comfortable,125cc engine, etc
Posted by Farhan at 10th July,2010
The Activa is just over rated, because of the only reason that it has been around since a very long time,my friend bought an just recently and i felt that it lacks pickup and it is even worse if you have a pillion rider along,it aslo feels really bad on the bumps and bad roads because of the same age old shock absorbers and it is highly priced, The Mahindra Rodeo has a Very good pickup, good styling and Great technology involved, like the digital console and all the good stuff that it offers but to me it looks like a scooter that a 16 year teenage girl would ride, looks very funny on a boy or a man and even funnier on two.The Suzuki access is one bike where i have rarely heard anything against it,Rides smoothly if ridden slowly, shoots like a rocket where needed, and handling is excellent,i dont feel any jerks or bumps even when two people (one being 105kgs and me 75kgs) Ride itthanks to the Telescopic, Coil Spring, Oil Damped suspension it has,I think one should definately think over the ac

Bought access about a month back....good mileage even before first servicing....comfortable riding...good pickup...stability at high speed...
Posted by goutam pareek at 2nd July,2010
i kind of felt that rodeo's engine was kind of responsive and so was with the duro but access kind of lacked that feel. and it costly too 55130 (with accessories) on road aorund b'lore
Posted by abhijith at 24th June,2010
since the waiting period for honda and access is more, i opted rodeo.. its really worth buying... rodeo and flyte both r making their way in the market...

At least you can get the photos right. The article is about rodeo and pic show is of Duro !!
  Posted by T. Kumar at 3rd May,2010
I purchased Access in March 2010. Find it well built, adequate torque, great power, greatly balanced while cornering even at good speed and lot of space. I will recommend Access 125 amongst the lot.
Posted by Prashant at 22nd April,2010
U all r missing Activa..Best pik in the category
Posted by PARTHA at 18th April,2010
me using access for last six months and vote for it in terms of comfort, reliability, handling, mileage and power.
Posted by Humsini at 27th March,2010
Access is much better in terms of driving comfort. Rodeo is still like a motorized cycle except for the nicely built-up plastic body..
  Posted by R Baxi at 5th March,2010
Nothing can bet the awesome torque that Access has, but Rodeo\'s instrument is pretty! I stick to Access.
Posted by Tejalinga at 3rd February,2010
Still access is my pick.
Posted by anshul at 31st January,2010
Rodeo is best and it is cheap also. It has got a lot many features.
