The yellow and green Lotus livery makes its return to Formula 1, with the Lotus Cosworth T127. The car was unveiled in the presence of team principal, Tony Fernandes, Mike Gascoyne and the team's drivers - Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen and Fairuz Fauzy.
Fernandes stated that while he was happy the team managed to meet its launch deadline, the team still had some hard work ahead, having to make their mark during testing. A sentiment that Gascoyne echoed. He declared that helping put the Lotus team together was one of the most challenging tasks of his career, and agreed that the challenge of testing still lay ahead.
The Lotus team will get its first track run coming Wednesday, when Fairuz Fauzy, the team's test and reserve driver will take it out on track. The car will then be handed over to race driver Heikki Kovalainen for the next two days, while Jarno Trulli will bring the marque's run at the Jerez test sessions to a close. We'll know where the team stands once the testing sessions are complete, although the team might have some teething trouble, particularly due to the rainy weather predicted for the final test.
