For those that don't know, the Freelander 2 is one of our favourite SUVs out there, not just in the Land Rover stable either, but the whole market. It's like a Swiss army knife in the way it goes about doing everything you ask of it. And well, the Freelander 2 has now gotten even better.
For the 2013 model year, the Freelander 2 features a new bumper design up front with new headlamps right above them. At the rear as well, there is a new bumper design with a more integrated design all around. A couple of new colour options and a new 17-inch wheel design on the HSE model about sums up the changes to the outside of the car.
Inside, there are a host of changes, starting, first, with the new touchscreen infotainment system with a Meredian powered system. This system has seen a complete overhaul and now features a new, faster, hard-drive based navigation system. The usual host of inputs like Aux-In, USB and bluetooth are there as well, for all your media streaming needs.
The old terrain response system dial has now been replaced with a switch, thus that space now hosts a new cubby hole for your belongings.
The Freelander 2 is available in two trim levels namely the 146 bhp TD4 SE and the 184 bhp SD4 HSE which both feature the same 2.2-litre diesel engine in different states of tune. Sending power to all four wheels is an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission that responds very well to throttle movements. Of course, being a Land Rover, we need not remind you of its off-roading abilities, do we?
All in all, all these changes only add to the Freelander 2's appeal in our books!
TD4 SE - Rs 38.67 Lakh
SD4 HSE - Rs 43.92 Lakh
