Lamborghini, makers of the Gallardo and Aventador supercars are in the process of appointing a second dealer for India. Mumbai, the country's financial capital will host the second showroom.
Your website, bsmotoring.com had earlier reported about the move many weeks ago. Certain news outlets had even carried a report regarding the appointment of Auto Hangar as the Mumbai dealer for Lamborghini.
However in an exclusive tete-a-tete with Stephan Winkelmann, President & CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, he denied that Auto Hangar is indeed the dealer for Mumbai. 'We are currently speaking to a few parties and we haven't appointed anyone as yet'. But he did confirm that Mumbai was indeed on their radar. 'Yes, we are looking at Mumbai for our second dealership for India. We will make an announcement to that effect in the coming months'.
Lamborghini, who have so far been selling the Gallardo and Murcielago supercars in India have recently launched the Aventador globally that replaces the Murcielago. The car is on sale in India and is priced at Rs 3.85 crore, ex-showroom. The 691 bhp supercar can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 2.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 350 kph.
BS Motoring was the first to report that upto 11 units of the supercar have been sold in India and that global production for the first 18 months have already been spoken for.
