Lamborghini's Super Trofeo is now for the road. The LP570-4 Super Trofeo Stradale is a lighter, faster version of the regular street Gallardo that takes inspiration from Lamborghini's Super Trofeo series Gallardos.
Lighter by 70 kg and about 10 hp up on the street going Gallardo, the 570-4 can go from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.4 seconds, hit 200 kph in 10.4 seconds and top put at 320 clicks. The 570 horses arrive at a peaky 8000 rpm and is duly accompanied by 55 kgm of peak torque arriving at 6500 rpm. Mated to a six-speed e-gear tranny, the gearbox now boasts of a 'Thrust' mode that works like launch control, allowing the driver to launch at 5000 rpm.
Other running gear includes double aluminium wishbones all around, 19-inch wheels (that save a massive 13 kg in total!) wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber while the wheel nuts are made of titanium. Brakes include 365 jobbies up front and 356s at the rear, though if you opt for carbon ceramics, they become 380 mm and 360 mm respectively.
The exterior includes a 'Rosso Mars' shade, matt black shade for the spoiler, engine hood and front intakes and forged wheels in high-gloss back. The rocker panel covers, impressive rear diffuser and outside mirror housings are made of carbon fiber polished to a high gloss, while the brake calipers are accented in red for the first time on a Lamborghini. Other exterior shade options, apart from Rosso Mars includes Grigio Telesto and Bianco Monocerus with the same gloss black roof option.
On the inside, there is a black and red sporty interior with Alcantara and carbon fibre for the seats with red stitching all around. the steering wheel is black suede and dark chrome on other parts of the interior. One can opt for a carbon fibre handrbrake cover, centre console and lower rim of the steering wheel as well as the instrument binnacle, door handles and glovebox opener in carbon.
Just 150 units of this limited edition Lambo will be built and it is quite possible that Lamborghini may still go ahead with its plans of building a limited edition (20 units, possibly) of the Sesto Elemento. Besides, Lamborghini is also looking to add a third line of super sportscars, apart from the Gallardo and Aventador lines. This may either be a four door super saloon that could be based on the Porsche Panamera platform or a four-seater, two-door GT to rival the Ferrari FF.
