It's been ages since Bajaj first announced their intention of getting the Ninja 250 to India. Many a summers had passed by but there was still no sign of the baby green monster of arriving onto our roads. But the good news is that it's finally here.

Bajaj has officially launched the bike in the country today and expect to find a growling 249 cc four-stroke, 32 bhp, DOHC, liquid cooled parallel twin draped in green, with a claimed fuel consumption of 42.5 kpl. The Ninja will be sold exclusively at Bajaj pro-biking showrooms across the country within the next 3 weeks. The Ninja will be imported as a CKD from Thailand, with staggered deliveries over the next 2-3 months. These showrooms will cater to the complete three S's - Sales, Service and Spares. The spares will be imported directly from Japan and Thailand.

The Ninja series is renowned for their sharp handling and crisp dynamics, something we've been craving for a long time from motorcycles sold in the country and its about time that we have a slice of that pie, no matter how small!

The Ninja is priced at Rs 2.69 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Bajaj expects to sell 1,000 units of the Ninja 250 R this year and has already assembled 60 units as of now.

Exceptional Stuff BAJAJ by bringing the bike here. I have been waiting for the NINJA from a long time but I personally feel that a price of 2.69 lacs is an inflated price tag. I hope you guys will accept the fact that you are retailing the Pulsar 220 DTSI for about 80,000/- now. I understand the difference in the bikes is alot but the price difference is 3 times more than the difference in performance of both the bikes. I will really suggest the Big Guys in BAJAJ to start manufacturing the spares for the NINJA yourself to bring down manufacturing costs hence bringing down the price to a modest 1.4 to 1.7 lacs on road. This will help in boosting your sales and also challenging your opponents in the same industry who may never be able to do the same.

This is a good bike and right now the best in its league but I was truly expecting it to be below 2lacs. Come to think of it u can buy second hand 500 and 1000 cc bike for 3 to 4 lacs. When kinetic launched Comet and Aquilla even they launched it below 2 lacs. So bajaj pls lower the price if u want solid sales.

The bike looks fabulous. But a 250cc bike is not worth 3 lakhs... it shud have been around 1.5 - 1.7 lakhs... i think bajaj needs to work on its pricing.

Appears that Bajaj have take a premium position with this bike rather than try to mass market. Sure the bike will attract more people to Bajaj showrooms. People unwilling to part 2.69 lacs could settle of p220. It is time for TVS/Hero Honda to up their game big time and make a Ninja 250 challenger and price it aggressively. Bajaj will not be able to offer p250 with same specs as Ninja as it would literally kill Ninja 250.

This should be the thumb rule for all Bike Companies i.e, Rs.50,000 per 100CC . Ideally if it is 250CC it should be priced at 1.25 lakhs and not more than that. If you price it more than that the PERIL is yours and your alone. Bajaj I think is again thinking through its HAT.

ya man, 3 lakh is too much for 250cc, otherwise specs sounds good.why cannot my favorite good old biker company (YAMAHA) fix 250cc engine to FZ16 body that will be sexy to drive.153cc bike is a toy man, i expect one good 250cc bike from yamaha.

Pricing is a disaster! Rs 3lakhs for a pocket-sized 250cc makes no sense. Goodluck to Bajaj - they will need lots of it!!

I think the expected price sucks after such a long wait and what information was given by the company. No just the timelines not met even the price is above what we expected. Thumbs down Bajaj.

It is really letdown.....should have been under 2 Lacs or 2 Lacs Max....Baja really pushed many back to the ZMR. Now ZMR looks much better.
