Honda's new small sedan to be called the Amaze

We've told you before that a Brio based sedan was coming to our shores very soon, and now Honda has gone ahead and given a name to the upcoming sedan. It will be called the Amaze.

This brio based sedan will be launched in India as well as Thailand. The Thai market car will feature only a petrol engine, while the India-bound car will have something that everyone has been asking of Honda for a long time now. It will come with the option of a diesel powerplant under the hood. Yep, you read that right, Honda is finally coming out with a diesel car in India! This motor could well make it into the other models in Honda's line-up in India pretty soon, by our reckoning.

The car will be a sub-4-meter offering which will take advantage of the tax breaks and come in at a very competitive price point.

Apart from the name and the inclusion of a diesel powertrain option, not much else is known about the car. Keep your eyes open though, because the car is not too far from launch!
