Honda Jazz launched

Honda Siel have launched their latest supermini, the Jazz here today. The most expensive hatch to be produced in India (the Chevrolet SR-V has been discontinued), the Jazz prices begin at Rs 6.98 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi, with the topmost variant priced at Rs 7.33 lakh. Mumbai prices begin at Rs 7.43 lakh and go all the way up to Rs 7.78 lakh.

Honda have launched three trim variants of the Jazz - the Jazz, Jazz Active and Jazz Mode come with two airbags and ABS as standard. None of the models feature alloy-wheels, a trend that began with the City last year.

Powered by a 1198cc, i-VTEC engine that produces 88 bhp, the Jazz meets the requirements for excise duty benefits for cars under four-metres and with a petrol engine capacity less than 1200cc. That, however hasn't deterred Honda's premium pricing, driven primarily by yen-rupee fluctuations. The cost of production is also high due to engineering factors, driven primarily by the safety shell developed for the Jazz.

The car is currently rolling out of its Gautam Budh Nagar facility, with production slated to shift to Rajasthan, once the plant is completely ready. Honda aims to sell 20,000 units of this hatch in the first year.

Thats interesting. Where will they sell it when their sales have crashed to 500 units within three months of launch. This overpriced elephant has cost Honda its entire goodwill generated by City and Accord. Wait another one year and even that will be lost to Toyota

Yes, sure the price is high it should have not gone more the 4.5-5 lakhs in mumbai..Cheeze I would have bot it for me, otherwise. What is Honda Expecting Sale of JAZZ as hot cookies when there is so much compettion from the small and mid size car segment, sure nobody will buy it....and it will sure be one of the rare species to get extinct soon
