Honda City is long acclaimed for its quality, comfort and performance in the mid-size sedan segment. And the latest 4th generation car has become the fastest to achieve 1 lac sales mark in a matter of just 15 months. This sedan have registered 1,01,299 units of cumulative sales since its launch.
Mr. Jnaneswar Sen Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales Honda Cars India Ltd addressed this success story by quoting, “This is a very proud moment for us. City brand has been the face of Honda in India, enjoying strong leadership and popularity in its segment ever since its launch. We would like to thank our customers for the confidence & continuous support that has enabled the brand to grow from strength to strength”. Furthermore, he said “While retaining the traditional set of sedan buyers, the new City has been able to attract a large number of young buyers. 30% of the customers have bought the City as their first car.”
This achievement of City could be largely awarded to Honda’s decision of entering the diesel segment with its 1.5L i-DTEC that have done fortunes for the company. Though, Amaze was the first car to get this engine, City soon followed the same trail. The all new City gets a sporty exterior design, complementing interiors and ample performance to envy the competition both in diesel and petrol.
