Global Cayenne recall to affect 483 units in India: Porsche

German luxury sports carmaker Porsche today said it would recall 483 cars in India as part of its global exercise to fix faulty headlight in 1,00,000 units of the Cayenne model.

"Number of cars affected in India are 483," Porsche said in a statement.

Last week, the company had announced a global recall of current 2011 and 2012 Cayenne models to rework on the headlight locking system.

"In-house quality investigations revealed that in rare cases an incorrectly locked head-light module can become detached," the company had said.

About 1,00,000 units of the Cayenne model line are being reworked, it added.

The company further said the workshop job takes approximately 45 minutes and is free of charge for the customer.

Apart from the Cayenne, Porsche sells other models such as Panamera, Boxter, 911 and Cayman in India.
