Ford India's first of 8 cars of India has been unveiled to journalists here at Bengaluru. The new Fiesta is a quantum leap over the last generation, currently sold as the Fiesta classic in terms of performance and features.
On offer are two engine options - a 1.5-litre twin cam petrol TiVCT producing about 106.5 bhp and 14.3 kgm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre Duratorq diesel with 90 bhp and 20.7 kgm of peak torque. The engines are all-new in the Ford family and India is the first market to receive them. They are also tuned to deliver great efficiency - 17 kpl for the petrol and 23.5 kpl for diesel - all ARAI figures.
Other key highlights include an Electric Power Steering setup with Drift Compensation that takes into account road camber and crosswinds. A new Bluetooth system with aux-in/USB support with voice function allows you to not only make and receive calls, but also control climate control and stereo functions. Cruise control, ABS and twin-airbags are standard on the top-end Titanium version.
