I am driving FORD - FIGO ZXI PETROL 4 THE PAST ONE YEAR. SEXY CAR WITH ALL features better than other in this segment. 2 major drawback are milage is 11-11.5 in city and with even 4 passenger total ground striking is their even in smaal brakers . this should b immediately rectified by ford 4 better bussiness .mainly clearance problem. other than u wiil love 2 drive it.

Feature for feature, figo does offer a top package. However I have doubts about its ground clearance. Manufacturer's claim is 168mm, however, when you observe the car in motion or standing still, it seems a lot less. In fact lesser than Fiat Punto. Already came across complaints of speed breaker scraping by many users on the net. Will some existing users share their viewpoint and experience regarding this? All most decided for 1.4 ZXi but holding back for this one reason.

Last week i got my new ford figo diesel titantium. The driving comfort is execellen though not superior than swift but equal to that. Phone compatability audio is great feature. Am getting a mileage of approx.17 ( 80% ac ). Little noiser engine than swift but fine. excellent space. still to test it on hills. A very good deal for Rs.6 lac.

ritz is Very smooth & happy engine.Front seats are very supportive.Company fitted integrated music system sounds good & would satisfy most.Feature riched- Twin air bags,ABS, tilt steering, driver seat ht. adj, alloy wheels, wide tyres(195), stereo control on steering wheel etc.In my opinion, for the price, the list of equipments are too good.

ford figo wl b hot cake but for lack of power windows on rear.i m prospective buyer but the above reason which is not even optional puts me in inifferent mode.
Posted by nnbb at 20th March,2010
test drove it today..spacious, low on noise..pretty low power below 2k rpm (apparently turbo kicks in above 2k rom - i am told). no tilt, rear windows go half way..opened the hood, very cheap plastics used in the lever which releases the hood up front..very tack. audio system was ok, side door speakers in rear were funny for a few seconds, colors ok, lot of rush at dealer. the big question - has ford cut some serious (hidden) corners to reach pricing..i am not technical enuf to know..but am wondering before i buy
Posted by Sidh at 17th March,2010
Ford should ensure rear power windows (as an option at least, as they are doing for alloy-wheels/front-fog-lamps). Believe me, I'm ready to buy petrol titanium, but just waiting till next month, if they ensure for "rear power windows". Had gone to Lathangi Ford, bangalore - and they are saying, technically it's very much possible (and will cost hardly INR. 3000 - 4000). FORD should seriously think on this. Just imagine Tata-Nano is having all power windows. Today I saw Punto 1.2 Dynamic Ad, which highlighting "ALL-POWER-WINDOWS".

i think this car is really packaged good especially the spacious cabin and decent enough bhp for such a low price in India. though i feel they couldve matched atleast 80bhp of chevyu beat considering figo is more heavier than beat and dimensionally more big. but if given a choice the only reason id pick beat over the figo would be the ground clearance in beat which seems more practical for the Indian road conditions now if ford was smarter they shoudlve launchedan outback version for b grade towns with a higher ground clearance as not everyone lives in cities in india and the bext big consumer spending revolution is happening in rural areas of india and if ford were to really create for themselves a household name in india they should open dealerships in smaller cities with atleast 1-2lakhs population. they have done well with the dimensions only thing the car is lacking is good ground clearance the warranty is lesser than by a year to beat's 3 yr warranty although km wise theyre both

Pros: 1) Value for money 2) Nice exterior looks(i think it doesnt look nice on photos. maybe the car is not photogenic! :) ) 3) Airy and spacious interiors 4) Cubby holders & storage spaces 5) Amazing boot space. Cons: 1)Rear windscreen is a bit small and looks like a cave from inside.(dont know why they designed like this). 2) Both front and rear bumpers are quite close to the body, i doubt whether they will fail to guard the car's body even in case of a minor accident. 3) Rear windows roll down only 60%.(Really pathetic). 4) Petrol car gives a Milege of 15.6kmpl a bit lesser than the ritz & beat 5) Average performer Verdict: Best value for money car with lot of small features even in the base variant. Overall a tempting package. Just go for it.

I say chaps, I saw Figo 1st hand and I really liked it. Compared to Beat, Swift, Ritz it is far more beautiful with lots of features. I think the only car to compare with it is \'VW-Polo\'. know what, pls check the specs b4 giving opinions...doesn\'t help...:-)

This is a good insight on the Ford FIGO. Although you have covered on most of the issues, but One thing which I noticed while checking out this Car and which you have not mentioned is that GETTING & OUT OF THE CAR IS A BIT PAINFUL. THE KNEES HIT THE STEERING AND THIS PROBLEM PERSIST WITH THE TOP END MODEL ALSO, which comes with Seat Height adjustment.
Posted by RajeshMahapatra at 6th March,2010
I say chaps, get to know the specs b4 commenting. The bottom line is Figo is a fantastic car for us, the best recently launched apart from VW-Polo. If it\'s painful to get in & out, get another tallboy design car, or better still, a bus.The specifications of it for the segment it is catering to is met and we love it\'s classic-looks.

i booked a figo 2day with s c ford goregaon(w)mumbai,i was in love with the car at the first sight,i didnt take a test drive as it was not available, but i drove a fiesta diesel & figo has the same engine,i was very very happy with the performance,& the interiors of figo they leave the swifts ,beats & vistas far behind.finaly india has got a world class hatchback.the price is not declared but still i booked the car.i just felt that this is the right car for me.the review just confirmed it.now i m eagerly waiting for the car 2 b delivered on 15th of this month.i m sure the swift 120 & beatwalas will b repenting their desision that they buught their cars b4 seeing FIGO

For those belittling old technology; I suggest you compare the oldest gen Maruti 800 and the latest gen Maruti 800 or compare the Palio GTX to the latest Palio 1.6 sport or the old Corolla to the new Altis or the Landmaster to the latest Ambassador or Premier President to the last released Premier Padmini or Merc W124 chassis to the latest gen Merc W211 chassis. The list can go on. I agree old tech is old tech but just check out the build quality and get ready to be surprised. I too vehemently oppose companies dumping old tech into India but if they provide good build quality I would be more than willing to take the bitter pill. Bitter pill it sure is but it will take some more time for the whites to understand that India and China is where the money is for a few more years to come and treating us like lower class citizens is not in their better economic interest.

1. The engine power is the least in the segment. 2. 60% of the rear window doesn't roll down. Surely they don't need rear power window. 3. A lovely (out of anger) red color dash board, form where they brought this color. 4. Boot opener on the co-driver side

Oh man! this car is gr8. I hope they keep the prices low(at least 1 diesel variantbelow 4 lakhs) so dat I'll be able to lay hands on one. Kudos Ford. Looking forward for FIGO eagerly

Somehow the car design doesn't feel exciting. On the positive side it isn't snazzy either. Pricing will be the key. one key figure needed- any idea about the mileage? I am very keen how much the frugal Tdci is capable of in a smaller car.

I think it was a fine first drive report from BSMotoring. Well done guys. To Rukesh, Fiesta is old gen platform vehicle yet its one of the finest midsize cars. Looks wise too its handsome and bettered only by Linea and Honda City. Though Figo is derived from the old platform what matters is whether the Ride, Handling and Steering are best in class. Based on initial reports I believe Figo scores high on these. I think Figo Diesel will turn out to be the best diesel small car.

Ford is making a classic mistake in India thinking price is the only consideration. to Indian car buyers design matters and this design is absolute rubbish. Selling older generation technology on older generation platforms just because India is a developing country does not mean Ford can get away with it. The average Indian buyer are quite sophisticated as Renault has found out the hard way with the Logan. Let me ask a few question - Would Ford have gotten away with the Figo in Europe? To Ford if they are listening - don't underestimate the Indian buyer. Marketing a car as being specially designed for India is just that - a marketing tactic. The Indian buyers will see through this sooner or later. Why don't they consider bringing the Ka or the Focus to India

Admin, firstly sorry about the language of the previous comment. Had been in a bit of a foul mood back then, and so the comment ended up coming off as quite rude. Thanks though, for treating it maturely! I think you did a fair job in *not* hyping a new car up unnecessarily - you mentioned the fact that the diesel is an old engine, with NVH issues. Similarly with gearbox etc. So that was nice. In that same neutral vein, I think it would be fair to readers / potential buyers that just one of the twenty points out here at least *briefly* mention that its an older-gen car. I am sure a lot of regular non-enthusiasts wouldnt be aware of this despite earlier mentions, and yet a not-insignificant proportion of these might rule out the Figo if they were to know. I totally agree that eventually the market as a whole is going to decide what value to assign to the Figo, and may indeed like it despite its age, if its priced accounting for that. But on a granular basis, I feel a potential buyer w

Rukesh, Get Well Soon! Frugal review I must say. If rear leg room stays as shown in images & price remains at 3.6L than it will be most practical Hatch in india.

Is using an older generation chassis really so bad?? If it seems to do the job then why reinvent just for sake of introducing something new. The so called older generation chassis is solid and well proven and also has WRC breeding. Mind you, introducing 'new' models by Toyota and Honda have been partly in reponse to makers like Ford and GM came out with so called 'old' models to compete with the then 'latest' models by Japs.

Also some things make no sense. "Ford will sell the car with six colours initially. These colours are aptly named like Chill, Squeeze..." What is chill colour? Or squeeze colour? Please think and write instead of copying the marketing bullsh*t. Thanks - ES

Would you have died to mention that this is in fact a phased out older-generation Fiesta from Europe? That it would have slightly inferior Engines, Body stiffness, Safety zones etc being essentially an old car? And the design? Apart from the attempt at the headlamps, the car is essentially the same as a 2003 Fiesta. Dont you feel the need to criticize Ford for treating Indian consumers this way? Companies such as Honda and Toyota on the other hand launch their latest cars here. How is a customer to know he is being taken for a ride when magazines such as yours stay mum???
Posted by Admin at 21st January,2010
Rukesh, beating around the bush and telling our readers over and over again that the chassis is a last-gen Fiesta really won't help. We have at more than one moment in the past made references to the Figo's platform, some of them have been critical too, and the general reader is aware of this fact. At the end, it is for the reader or potential buyer to decide what works best for him or her. Besides, re-using or re-hashing existing platforms to create a new car isn't a new phenomenon either. Eventually the market forces are big enough to decide what works best for it. So it is either to Ford's gain or loss.
Posted by Anand at 21st January,2010
So what if its an older generation fiesta. The older fiesta was a perfectly fine car to start with: practical and fun. I think its sensible not to mess with a winning formula ! However, I wish ford would also offer a version with an automatic gearbox.
