 UPDATE:

The Mahindra Mojo 300cc motorcycle has just been launched! The prices are as follows -

Mahindra 300cc Mojo - 1.75 lakh ex-showroom, Pune

Stallio 110cc - 44,699, ex-showroom, Pune.

Also, importantly, Mahindra Mojo will come with a 4-years/40,000 kms warranty and 8 free services. Isn't that something?!

Indian motorcyclists, do we have some really awesome news for you! We have the first proper pictures and details of the much-awaited Mahindra 300cc motorcycle. It’s called the ‘Mojo’ and even though we must admit that isn’t the coolest name in the universe, it is the motorcycle itself that excites us the most.

Ready?

Yes, the looks are European and the Engines Engineering hand in development does show. It very well could have been a Cagiva for the European market! The twin-headlamps remind us of the Triumph Speed Triple while the tubular chassis, the shorty stubby end pipes and the sharp fairing also have this very Speed Triple-esque look and form. Overall, the design language is pretty darn radical for our market. Oh, and twin exhaust pipes too! Cool, isn't it?

It’s a 292cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected (more on that later) 4-valve engine that produces 26 bhp @ 8500 rpm, and some healthy 2.5 kgm of torque at around 7000 rpm. And you know where the electronic fuel injection unit comes from? Ducati Energia - the same company which was once part of the Ducati Meccanica motorcycle unit.

A six-speed constant mesh gearbox is coupled with this engine.

this very supper bike i like very much and i think my people also like very very much
Posted by abishek at 27th October,2010
it doesn't look great!!! the twin head lamps is not appealing!!!!!actually sucks!!!!! the pricing and the spec makes it a desperate vehicle on road still waitin 4 it!!!!!
Posted by mahesh kumar at 21st October,2010
yaaaa, I will like this bike. Its style, power, especially the pipes and this naked design. but the price is just high compaired to other 250cc bikes. IT IS SOMETHING SPECIAL.
Posted by RISHIr at 21st October,2010
Looks will be the only drop sale factor!!! bike is good but ,clumsy!! something like UNPROPORtionate!
Posted by bhupinder singh at 16th October,2010
great bike it is better than karizma ZMR yamaha R15 ninja and pulsar 220......pls sent for display...
Posted by Abiram Menon at 11th October,2010
felt very bad to say it dont look good. spec are the biggest asset and please people, u cant get a paoli inverted forks, monoblock calipers, juan discs for cheap price. so it is very much priced competitively, for instance compare R15 which costs sme 60k less dont have any high spec parts. chk the parts list of a superbike and we can see the paoli, monoblock nd all...

nice bike good ground clearance for my town roads
  Posted by will-kill-for-exclusivity at 7th October,2010
looks mean, and naked, and has a bitchy appeal but yes spec for spec it is pricey but too early to comment unless a full road test. 15 liter tank is just about adequate(earlier pulsars came with 18 liter tanks, and the TVS star comes with a 16 liter tank !!!!) and i wonder, where will they fit the saree guard
Posted by shiv pal at 6th October,2010
it s like a rajdoot of new era............bakwaassssssssssssssssss
Posted by Cyberflaw at 6th October,2010
Good specs. But few things to note: 1)WTF with the front head lamps? Looks like a dirt bike 2)WTF with two exhaust? Technical limitation or purely for looks? 3)You're making a 300CC bike but only giving her a 15 liter tank? WTF with that? 4)Need to round that engine cover or whatever you call that under the engine. I hate to fly off the bike after hitting one of India's marvelous speed bumps. 5)1.75L price? With that price, it'll probably sell even less units then Ninja. Don't price yourself out of the market. Sure a lot goes into R&D and licensing costs, but India is a price sensitive market.

Appreciable work by Mahindra. Trust fit n finish will be good since its a Mahindra. Waitin to see what top speed does it clock. The ZMR was a fuel-injected disaster. Trust Mahindra will do justice to the performance hungry youth population in this country.
Posted by puru varshney at 6th October,2010
it is a very sporty bike and it exterior like rajdoot
Posted by Abhinav at 5th October,2010
Its ugly, and a very expensive ugly mojo!!
Posted by amrit at 4th October,2010
I would say that the only way this bike could sell is when it is pitted against the P220 and ZMR. Remove one exhaust, one headlight, that gold plating on the side (steel/ aluminum is better) and 50k off the price. Also a bulkier tank would not hurt as would a non-gay naming. As it is it would never give the volumes that would make mahindra recognizable and the enfield classic 500 more that matches the specs at a much lower price point with all the charm that mahindra could never hope for. Come on mahindra you can do better and you have lot of time till the launch to make amends.

I thought of buying and very much interested assuming the byke to be around 1 lakh rupee .too much for a single cylinder bike .the bike is only for multimillionaires and not for a common auto lover like me.bad luck folks.thank u.
Posted by rajendra prabhu dessai at 3rd October,2010
whycant they bring same spec in proper no nosense naked bike styling, its front specially lamps are too ugly n complicated.this dont feel like buying.
Posted by Hayabusa at 2nd October,2010
Dual exhaust pipes on a single Cyl, dont know if I like it. But the overall design looks ok. Also the front brake cyl looks like a 2 pod (hope its of a good quality for good brake feel) Good Work Mahindra - from MM540 to this....
Posted by james at 2nd October,2010
price r too high & looks are dammn weird.u can count this among the ugliest bikes.
Posted by Balu at 1st October,2010
Its a good move by Mahindra but i am not impressed with this model. Basically a performance bike should have min twin cyl,250cc spec like Ninja 250 or an International std config. When will an Indian bike maker produce a homegrown good spec perf bike.. and the cost of this is too high.
Posted by manish at 1st October,2010
looking god i want to look her performace .mahindra donig good job for india market see what be her future
Posted by Rohit at 1st October,2010

1 cylinder thumpers has limited life.maximum 90000kms or so.twin cylinder welcome
Posted by Yash at 30th September,2010
Fails a bit in the looks department, but anyways we can now buy a bike more than 250cc.....
Posted by Lijo at 30th September,2010
shit it luks bad and more like a dirt bike............d 125 cc was more promising
Posted by Ritochit Barua at 30th September,2010
Awesome!!!!!!! :D about time somebody went above the "225cc" barrier in the Indian bike market. Hope the guys at Bajaj are reading!!
Posted by Hafeez at 30th September,2010
Nice bike with all the right bits and specs look good on paper. Lets see what the performace is like in the real world and how well it lasts in the long term. If Mahindra plans on using the old kinetic service stations to service this bike, then buyers would be better off going to a roadside mechanic. I speak from experience with my old Kinetic Honda ZX and now Kinetic Flyte. Good machines let down by apathetic service stations. I dont see any improvement after Mahindra took over.

it will make sense if it's not priced above 1 lakh rupee.
Posted by Shankar at 30th September,2010
The bike looks great but not as much as one would like to own one....and the pricing is really terrible....Rs.1.75 lacs...costs around a Nano!!!!! Think the price should have been around Rs. 1.25 lakhs, unless they want to create very niche market...
Posted by Velutha at 30th September,2010
220ccis available @78k, 292cc priced @1.95Lakh?!? where's the horse sense? The FI, LC, Monoshock, USD not withstanding. After all we didn't ask for all that stuff, we wud've been perfectly happy at a price of 98k without all that mostly academic stuff.
Posted by pradeepjauhar at 30th September,2010
The rear seat looks a lot more raised than conventional rear seats in most mobikes.Would it be comfortable for the pillion rider or , is one to believe, that this is not meant for pillion riders???
Posted by nadir ali khan at 30th September,2010
