How about a 1.6 multijet engine.Fiat send your cars to small city Tata showrooms, many of us are acutally not aware of presence of Linea.

Honda Accord and Punto are totally different league. How can a sane person even think on comparing boththe cars. They are meant for the different TG.

Looks good on the finish and style. Yet to be compared to the cars already on Indian Roads.

Hope at least this car brings back the attorney image of FIAT in India.I always liked FIAT cars starting from Premier to FIAT 500, i loved almost all models....except Palio 1.1....The power in these cars should be anything around 75bhp -85bhp.... so that many other small players like Swift, I20, Santro,etc...surrender to Punto. Power in Palio 1.1 should atleast be anything near 70bhp...compared to its competators.... Jai FIAT Punto....Jai Ho!!!!

Looks like Punto would finally bring back Fiat as a serious car player in the Indian market... a game-changer... very competitive pricing indeed... serious threat to i20, fabia and jazz (honda can never be a volume player)... maybe not much to i10 or ritz... small cars buyers never had so many killing choices on their plate ever before... Cheers, Kapil!

Exactly Kapil. I agree with your views. Honda Jazz can nver be a volumne player ( are we mad to pay 8 lakh for hathc, instead lets go City/Verna/Fiesta/SX4 etc...). Punto is superior hatch that turned the fortunes for Fiat world wide. Excellent pricing from Fiat...I was gussing it around 5.5 to 6. Its a shocker at 4 Lakhs. Size quality proportions of this car should be compared to Jazz, Fabia, i20, Swift....Kudos to Fiat...

Kapila I agree with you. I wonder why Fiat didnt play their cards right earlier. But as the wise man said "Better late then never". Congratulations FIAT on bringing a world class car at such a great price for not that rich Indian people. Kudos to you.

Let me tell you about after sales service of Fiat. You may have to use your imagination but think along with me and you will get the idea. You may have seen bad after sales service and then you may have seen some worse services. Now believe me, Fiat after sales service is the worst. I had my first hand experience with them as an owner of Fiat Palio.

First of all let me congratulate FIAT on bringing such a world class product for us people. As the wise man said "Better late then never". FIAT has been ridiculously lazy in bringing great cars to India. But I still think Honda Accord is betther then this car and I will never buy it. Kudos to Accord.

Are you sure about comparing Accord with not even a C segment sedan but a Hatchback?
Posted by singhal at 19th June,2009
Their laziness in bringing the great cars to India is not only a surface phenomenon, but digging deeper it reveals their lack of commitment to the Indian market. Punto was launched in europe in 2005. Right now its outdated there. Europe is such a competitive market, a design cannot last 4 years there.

And first of all.... i`d like to tell Kasuri... dat u can`t compare Accord with the Grande Punto....Accord is way too expensive...did you ever noticed that...huh...Grande Punto is the best Car in its segment... and will set a new standards and benchmarks for other car manufactures....!! B-)

Have you got any clue of what comparisions you are making? The Grande Punto and the Honda Accord fall in altogether different segments (for you kind information the Accord falling few notches higher). So kindly stay away from making such ridiculous and dumb comparisions (at least on public forums) if you have any basic knowledge of automobiles.
