Please leave the RD alone, what you doing? its an insult comparing RD with every day motorcycle. I guess it will be a while till we see pulsar on GP track! How someone even think of putting two together.

I am a proud owner of Rx135 5speed which I sold 4 RXZ 135 5speed. I suposed 2 buy Rd350 very long back but sum prob had skip it but wil b buyin b4 end of d year. RD350b was launched in 1983 in india n was detuned 4 india 2 30.5bhp High Torque which was was internationaly n originally 39bhp, dan later in 1986 detuned 2 27 bhp Low Torque.It 1st came 4 cops 2 chase n nabb criminals but dey wer used 2 bullets so dey wer inexperienced 4 Rd which used 2 wheely 1st 3gears under amateur riders so dey ended up wid accidents sum wer injured n dead. It was technologically based on very famous TZ350 n TZ250 which ruled MOTOGP 4m late 1970-80 everything was similar only difference is rd350b is street version aircooled 143Kg n Tz350 was a light weight 100 kg fully faired race teck wid liquid cooling n parts r interchangeable within both bikes which used 2 b 90+bhp n used 2 top 250+ kmph....2stroke bikes has been racing in india 4m decades. 2day in Indian drag race records in indian class d fastest

ok RD now stay away becoz with K n N 220 hits 170 kmph but wait pulsar 250 and 300 are coming but 250 pulsar is enough for RD 350. And one day Bajaj will launch pulsar super bike which would be 900 to 1000 cc so please stay back and dont post any comments

Wonder why these bikes are being compared together. Its like comparing apples and oranges. Both are different in class, size, capacity, stroke. Owned one RD before for 18yrs and know the difference. Even a badly maintained RD can smoke a pulsar. This article is not proving anything here. MPOV

Bro.. The legendary Rd 350 is on its own way but pulsar 220 is a great cornering vehicle ,and good breaking,initial pickup is also not bad. The rd will beat pulsar in top end.

i jus got an rd 350. i am so excited to be part of the rd family. the bike is awesome n it has a class of its own. i drove a frnds rd 350 n i knew it was time to move on to an rd 350 . its tht feeling of the torque,the adrineline rushing ,heart throbing and .... its the felling tht jus goes on like wen you drive an rd it jus dosent get any better . i jus wanna say you cant compare the two bikes and even though there has been a technology leap in the past 35 years i still feel rd 350 is the best !!!

Ya its like maintaning my wife i resently got a offer of a lac for my bike but said no . and ur folks are right ur too small to handle such acceleration if u have ever rode a rd an extra pull of tha accelerator can give u a unwanted wheely even in the 3rd gear and maintanence is really expencive so think twice before buying of else wait for the honda avr cost about 1.5 in mumbai so delhi should be cheaper

hey, bro my dad is having that rx100 with last 16 yrs & it is still in mint condition. & Nowadays i ride rx100 becoz my father wont listen my wordings becoz they knew that i will not control an RD, they also says that u to small to handle an RD. but they love me and i knew if will cry in front of him or show sigh they will definately purchase an RD350 for me in blue colour & Delhi no. one more thing that RD is not everyday bike & it's not '' USE & THROW''!

Hey Harshvardhan the Rd is the ultimate bike but practice on another bike i had my accident on my Rd on which i broke both my hands and cracked my spine its a different story that inspite of the accident i still have her and love her but dude u need to practice first cause riding a RD is like mounting on a wild horse

I own a 84 ht Rdand well know with the torque induction and A well tuned rx 135 5-speed is enough to woop the definitely lame 220, 2stroke double cylender bike wid d techno of japan. it burn the road with 165km/h+.... dont compare it with the daddy.

Dude what are you'll comparing i own a RD and could never take her to the limit but she always suceeds in taking me to my limits the pulsar is actually shit in front of the Rd .I often come across todays bachaas on their todays bikes and if i am in the mood i give them the taste of speeding next to a Rd and all they can smell is my fart

RD 350 maybe faster but its not INDIAN.. though it was produced in INDIA, it was owned by YAMAHA. So THE Fastest INDIAN means a bike whose technology is indigenously made by INDIA! So Pulsar 220 is d fastest INDIAN!

You are comparing rd with 220 pulser? If you ride my uncle's standard bore rd 350 ,220 pulser will feel like 100cc bike.In 3rd gear it can clock 100km/hour.In 6th it can reach 160kmph.

This is such a stupid article.. why would u compare the legendary RD 350 to a brand new Pulsar 220? I have a 220 and have ridden a 350, and trust me even though 350 is a really powerful bike,it is past,having ridden it I would say the 220 will beat it like shit in our city traffic any day. I think we shd be proud of our comparatively new Indian brand Bajaj more than the decades old Japanese Yamaha.

I d say BALLS....when u compare an RD to 220 or any current bike for that matter.RD was much ahead of its time. It hit the roads when an average joe was looking for a mileage bikes.After buring the roads hard for 30 yrs,a decent RD will eat all the 4 stroke junkies for breakfast when it comes to performance. I aint agree when u compare legends to newbies.I pray to god to give a piece of mind and thought for those Yamaha brats to relaunch the Racing Deamon RD.Then you ll know whos the boss.

U have test ridden the new P220 DTSi. Being ridden Zma of my cousin occasionally, I can feel the change. Oh man its a superb machine. The question is whether P220 is reliable and Durable like the RD. I will be surprised to see the P220 used here after 30 years of hard biking which the RD spent(if I stay alive). I hope Bajaj R&D engineers are concentrating on the that big the alphabet starting words of the legendary Yamaha; R - Reliability & D - Durability. Oops did I missed to tell you that I have finally decided to book for a Pulsar 220 DTSi S as I felt its worthier than the Yamaha FZ-S, another bike considered. Initially I loved to get the classic ZMA R, but the price tag of 81 pulled me back my family as they thought I could give that amount as down payment for a brand new car. :) So after arguing long, I got approval of 75K budget. After test rides of the FZ amd 220, I have no doubt now. My next bike will be the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi. What do you think friends ?

Good one...the pulsar as you guys say may be good..but look where Bajaj has gone in these decades..from 100cc four strokes to 220cc four strokes in about a decade and a half..not something to be very proud of..and despite all this they still cant make bikes which shift properly into neutral...well now i guess its late

I rode my brothers RD 350 and true it is fast... but thats where the comparison ends, dont compare, switchgear and speedos and dials and stuff man, these bikes are generations apart! Both the bikes are awesome!

anyone who has ever experienced the banshee howl and maniac acceleration of an RD will agree that till date there just hasnt been any bike in India that has even come close in experience! what would probably be worth comparing would be the 220 pulsar and the old twin stroke RX 100 buzz bomb!!

RD is an RD no doubt it being faster than 220...let there be an updated RD as per latest technology on road with 220 and then see if 220 can hold candle to RD... i am sure not.....Let us not compare the 2 are both are very different bikes... RD is a cult classic bike....Amen

tbl_comment_story It is utterly rubbish to compare the two bikes. Since RD is more than 20 years old technology and it is not justifiable to compare an old technology with the latest one of 2009. Will you allow me to port the RD as per the todays latest techniques and then try it with your 220 pulsar? The results will be very very rewarding and interesting! Try it. Nostalgia !! i am a big rounded NRI investment banker now but was a biker in my time and used to ride RDs. after 30 years if an RD is still faster, it speaks not how great the RD was but how little the biking scene has progressed. I have division of 15-20 cc in between segments

Interesting way of comparing a new bike v/s a classic. I am sure the Bajaj folks would love this one..Maybe this would a norm in terms of reviews find a vehicle which really drums up old memories. So I am wondering who would be taking up the good ol vespa next...
