Caterham has produced this lightweight boy-racer’s dream, and is meant for well-heeled club racers looking for a fast way to spend a Sunday on the track. Propulsion for this sub-600 kg prototype is provided by one of Ford’s best – their 2.0L Duratec four-pot - with a supercharger boosting up the proceedings and the result is that this Caterham scorches off the line, hitting 100 kph in less than 2.5 seconds. That’s Veyron-territory, folks.
And of course, when you consider the fact that this car has the best minds from Lola and Caterham working on it, you know it will go around bends and change direction like a scampering feline that has a mutt on its tail. Just 25 will be made each year, keeping it elite amongst the elite, and it being Caterham, they have a one-make racing series planned for 2012. What more remains to be said? Go, Speed Racer, go!
