Vettel's pole at the 2010 Chinese GP is the fourth consecutive pole for the Red Bull team. Vettel was over a quarter of a second ahead of his team-mate, Mark Webber, who took second spot on the grid, while Ferrari's Fernando Alonso took third.

The fact that Red Bull Racing has managed to lock out the front row of the grid, could mean that they are headed for another 1-2 finish on the podium, after their brilliant performance at the Malaysian GP.

Mercedes drivers Nico Rosberg qualified fourth, while his team-mate Michael Schumacher qualified ninth on the grid.

As for McLaren, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton might have set the pace in practice yesterday, but they had to settle for fifth and sixth, ahead of Felipe Massa and Robert Kubica.

Adrian Sutil rounded off the top 10 for Force India.

The only thing drivers need to watch out for is rain. It is a given that there is going to be a shower at some point in the race, and that could scupper things for the chaps at the head of the grid. Getting tyre strategy right is of vital importance in this case. On the plus side, for Vettel at least, he seems to enjoy driving in the wet.

And what about Karun Chandhok? This time around, KC only managed a time of 1m 41.141, which put him at the last spot on the grid.
