Michael Schumacher might have slighted the tifosi by signing to race with Mercedes GP, but the German seven-time world champion has declared that a part of his heart will always remain red - for Ferrari. Schumacher has declared that even though he might not be with the Scuderia any more, his switch to Mercedes will certainly not mean that all affection is lost for the 'prancing horse'. Michael has declared that he will always remain friends with Ferrari - the team with which he won five of his seven world titles. He even joked that his biggest challenge next year will be preventing himself from driving into the red garage during pitstops!
What has also caught attention though, is Schumacher's declaration that 2012 might not be the end of his racing career. “Three years wasn't really my intention, but the idea came from the team,” Schumacher told German newspaper Bild. “I look at it as a vote of confidence. The good thing is that we can have more success over the course of three years, but it doesn't have to mean it's over after three years.”
