F1: Hamilton takes second pole in a row

img

For the second time in as many races it's a McLaren 1-2. Lewis Hamilton took pole position at the Malaysian Grand Prix, while Jenson Button lines up second on the grid.

Michael Schumacher recovered from a disappointing outing at Melbourne to take the Mercedes AMG F1 W03 to third place on the grid. His team-mate Nico Rosberg clocked the eighth fastest time during qualifying. While Mark Webber took the fourth fastest time, Sebastian Vettel managed a sixth place on the grid. Splitting the two Red Bull Racing cars was the Lotus of Kimi Raikkonen. With Kimi incurring a five-place grid penalty for a gearbox change, though, Vettel will move up to fifth on the grid.

Good news for Indian F1 fans, Narain Karthikeyan and Pedro de la Rosa managed to take their HRT F1 cars into the 107 per cent bracket, which means they will start the Malaysian GP.
