What is it?
Hopefully something we’ll see more of on the roads – the new Santa Fe from Hyundai
And I should care because?
It’s going to make its way to showrooms here soon enough. The Santa Fe has been on sale for well over a year here, but this one has been completely redesigned and bears what is called the ‘Storm Face’ design language. It’s their adaptation of the ‘Fluidic’ design to SUVs, really. The Santa Fe now looks quite sharp, more in line with the other Hyundais on offer. Internationally, both five and seven-seater models are available, but only the seven-seater will make it to our shores. Engine options announced at launch were a 264 bhp 2.0-litre turbo-four and a 190 bhp 2.4-litre four-cylinder for the 5-seater, and a 3.3-litre V6 engine making 290 bhp for the long-wheelbase seven-seater, all of which are mated to a
six-speed automatic transmission. Diesel options weren’t mentioned, but we’re sure when it goes on sale here, it will be sporting at least one diesel engine.
Should I jump for joy?
