It's hard to believe, but the Chevy Beat has been in the market for three years already now. That means that it's about time for a mid model cycle refresh, and that's exactly what GM has in store for the Paris Motor Show. The US market Beat (called the Spark) has already been updated once, but this update is for the global model.
Outside, the Beat gets a new, larger grille up front and headlamps that look like they have eyeliner on them. New bumpers front and back and the centre rear stop lamp being moved to the spoiler are about all the external changes mentioned so far.
On the inside, there's very subtle changes. For starters, Chevy claims that material quality is improved over the current model and that there's more storage space inside. The photos show a different centre console design, but we're not sure if that will make it over to our shores.
There's no solid news about this yet, but the camouflaged test mules running on our roads suggest that Chevy may well bring this in sooner rather than later. We're hoping for a December 2012 - January 2013 launch time for this model.
