Hi, I have been using Hyundai i10 VTVT manual transmission ASTA variant from past 4 months. Problem is the mileage is poor at only 10kpl. I have been driving cars from past 10 years, this is my second car after M800 which used to give me 16kpl. After first service, it seems to be improved to 12-13, not as claimed by ARAI. Before first service, the Engine used to struggle to climb uphills and many times had to shift to first gear, the same uphill was climbed in 3rd gear in my M800. Now, it has improved, but the Service guy is saying everything is OK, you have driving problems (:. I did not test drive BEAT which I wanted to before buying i10, due to Chevy brand I did not go for it. Everyone is saying that ASS of Chevrolet is very good now and Beat would have saved me 70,000 against i10 with Auto AC, sun roof etc features.

I have purchased BEAT oct 2010. I live in kolkata which has the worst possible road compared to any other metros. Leave alone the traffic of rickshaws, autos and state buses with mindless drivers. My daily run is around 40 kms and I am getting a mileage of around 15 Kms with 50% AC. BEAT is an aawesome car for the city. Exeptional interiors , slighty sluggsigh on pickup but very fuel efficient. The best part of the engine is that Chevrolet has so designed it that in any gear u drive there will be little difference in mileage and hence great for city driving

beat is a very good car there is no car offering the same features at its price.i am a user myself and would share my stats from past 6months- distance covered-2952km mileage city/highway-17/19 without ac 15/17 with ac service cost-none i am getting 3yrs service which is free and nice top speed-167kph(gps reading on phone)at 6300rpm pickup-good (it is getting better with driving) ac-dunno how correct it is but phone showed 25 deg on the back seat with outside temp of 42 deg.more or less pretty good interior quality-best in its class (confirmed autocar, overdrive, ndtv car and bike show) stability-good infact it was designed to be aerodynamic considering it as a sports car by its designer and if you see the concept model and production car both are very similiar.added to that bodyroll is very less due to its low height and can be improved greatly by fitting wider tyres*mileage will suffer* cons- boot space less. but if lots of space is needed them you can fold the rear seat towar

beat PS and Ac - lower end model 3.80 with mileage of 15 to 16. Good A.s.s but unable to comment about engine. as for now it is peppy and very good. but its a new car. where as i10 irde 2 era basic model is 4.45 mileage 16 to 17. very good A.s.s spares are equal to gm. engine no worries.. 10k 50k even 1lak also no problem.. Engine ROCKS .. Resale Value of Beat after 3 yrs will be 1.5 to 2 lak where as i10 will sell for 3.5 ... i10 is way better than beat but it is not VFM ... Beat is really VFM and only point is Resale and question mark about the new engine for our Indian condition ... Chevy is top in abroad but not India.. am not into i10 or beat ... coz i love only Fiat and i own punto.. I know Fiat A.s.s and Resale sucks but the Engine and performance are wat better to other plastic cars.. the body is so wel built

Hi all, I wanted to buy a petrol hatchback under 5L predominantly for city traffics (chennai office timing traffic around 6:30PM), and am known to be very thoughtful and highly choosy over my options (both over technical and non-technical specifications). Keeping upto my reputation i test drive almost all the good cars in this segment. The cars that i tested so far are- each around 20Km on all terrain/ traffic types (Day 1: Nissan Micra GL+, Day 2: i10 Magna 1.2 Kappa 2, Day 3: i10 Sportz Automatic, Day 4: Maruti Swift ZXI, Ford Figo Titanium, Day 5: Chevrolet Beat LT, Day 6 (yet to take) A Star Automatic) and here is a short description of my findings: Day 1: Nissan Micra Pros: Very Beautiful car, looks sturdy and big hatch bag, the only car to offer an air bag in the starting version, Electronic Power steering feels as if working in thin cloud, even Honda city cannot compare with its steering smoothness. Good suspensions. Spacey interiors (more than i10). Cool feature like mileage d

Shankar/Vinod, surely you can go for beat, I have driven it for more than 4000kms and found it very good for city and long drives, good control and road grip. A/C is very good but as i told earlier pick up in 2nd and 3rd gears is a concern, but value for money. Just go for a test drive first....best fo luck!.

Friends,I have purchaced Cheverolot Beat LS(white) a couple of months back, the perfomance is superb with its 16V DOHC engine. You can feel the smoothness after 60 km speed, but the initial pick up is a concern . The car is superb in its class in interior, styling and comfort. The car is well priced in its segment and is a better choice to A-star and i10. Its suspension is pretty good and the vechile is well balanced on it four wheels with suberb control on roads. You can feel the comfort on long drives and mileage with 16 to 17km/litre on highways is really good.
