The Villa d'Este concours d'elegance is sponsored by BMW, so every year, they prepare something special for it. Last year, it was the beautiful 328 Hommage and the M1 Hommage the year before. This time, it's something that looks like no BMW before it. The Zagato coupe is a completely road-legal, one-off built just for this event. Details about its underpinnings are scarce, but it is most likely based off the Z4 coupe, going by the roofline and short rear overhangs.
The design does have some very slight resemblance to the BMW 6 Series-based Fisker coupe, but in our eyes, this one looks a lot better.
This completely hand-built machine is basically what Zagato envisions BMWs to be. Key elements of both firms make their way onto the coupe. It's built to achieve high speeds thanks to its aero package, but at the same time adheres to all the current safety regulations as well, so, if they decide to sell a small run of the car, it will not be changed in anyway.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for more news about this one going into production.
