BMW India has launched an updated version of the X6 Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) and has in the process also changed the engine mix. Gone is the X6 xDrive30d and in its place arrives the X6 xDrive40d while the X6 xDrive50i twin turbo petrol continues to do duty.
The X6 xDrive40d is a twin-turbo diesel variant of the 3.0-litre straight six diesel engine that produces 306 bhp of peak power and 64.2 kgm of peak torque. This motor is also offered on the 6 Series Gran Coupe, 640d coupe and convertible as well as the 7 Series. Both engines now get an eight-speed automatic gearbox instead of the six that improves fuel efficiency and performance.
On the outside the vehicle now gets an updated front bumper with foglamps and a chrome surround for the naceles, new design alloy wheels, a pronounced chrome grille up front and optional LED headlamps. At the rear, the vehicle now gets twin LED tail lamps. Four new paint finishes are also now offered with the X6.
BMW has priced the 40d at Rs 78.9 lakh, ex-showroom India and Rs 93.4 lakh for the 50i variant.
