The country's second-largest two-wheeler maker, Bajaj Auto, today launched an advanced version of its flagship bike Pulsar, priced at Rs 70,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

"We have been continuously evolving our Pulsar range to provide our customers state-of-the-art product with unmatched performance and technology. The new 2009 edition Pulsar 220 has further raised the bar in the performance segment by becoming India's fastest production bike," Bajaj Auto Ltd CEO (two-wheelers) S Sridhar told reporters here.

The new bike is an advanced version of the 220 Pulsar bike, which was launched in 2007.

The company also has other models in the premium segment — Pulsar and Avenger.

Since the last fiscal, the sales of the company has been declining. Its total two-wheeler sales during May this year fell 8.42 per cent at 1,65,697 units over the same month last year.

For 2008-09, the total two-wheeler sales of the Pune-based firm plummeted by 11.18 per cent at 19,19,582 units as against 21,61,095 units in the previous fiscal.

Feels really proud to see an Indian manufacturer standing up against the world. Way to go Bajaj. But please next time, take care of those rear view mirrors in p220 :-)

What do you mean by Indian; even Hero Honda and Yamaha manufacture bikes in India and are as Indian as Bajaj. Yes, bajaj do not sport the Kawasaki logo anymore. Winning a few FE/SNS patents does not mean they are isolated from the Jap Parent.... Now look at this; they have taken away Fuel injection quietly . And what happens to people like me who paid a lot more mone to buy the P220 in the first place.

Useless looking yet again, bajaj will still go down. The looks are a generation old. Yamaha Fazer is coming in a month for the same price and full fairings. Up to date looks

If bajaj readies 150 powr bikes with KTM-L.C engines likes of Honda,Yamaha will eat their shit and send soichiro brand back its grave. Its already on cards.
