Audi has the Q3 and a lower spec variant, the Q3 S. This variant has manual transmission, no daytime running LEDs and even no climate control to name a few major missing features. A couple of days ago, I spotted the currently sold A4 with a different set of alloy wheels and a company car that was being tested on the streets of Mumbai.
This A4 had the factory number plate and we managed to snap only the rear. The front when we saw that the regular yellow bulbs but couldn't click it. The A4 will be available in a lower trim variant too. At the moment about 15 percent of the Q3 sales happen from the S variant and Audi will want to increase the numbers of the A4 with this new additional variant. We have no clue if the A4 will come with a manual transmission, but it will have a lower-spec variant at least.
It does make a lot of business sense, as even the A3 has a lower-spec variant with daytime running lamps and some lesser features too. Audi has been leading in sales numbers in the Indian luxury car domain and it will want to hold on to the number 1 spot. This year the Ingolstadt-based automaker will be having 10 product launches of which one will be the A4 variant. The A4 lower-spec variant will be coming with only diesel engine and this will be the 2.0-litre engine, we reckon this will be producing 140bhp.
