Audi to bring Q5 2.0 TDI to India

BS MOTORING EXCLUSIVE! Audi is on a roll in 2011, and just after the launch of the A8 (and a resounding success at that!), it is gearing up for model variants and all-new cars.

Next on the cards is the Q5 2.0 TDI diesel. Slated for launch sometime in March, the Q5 2.0 TDI will be priced at around Rs 42 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai and will take on the likes of the outgoing BMW X3 xDrive2.0d, the Volvo XC60 D5 and the HS version of the Land Rover Freelander 2. Powered by a 1968cc, four-cylinder diesel engine as found on the A4, it produces 168 bhp@4200 rpm and about 35.3 kgm of peak torque, available between 1750 and 2500 rpm.

Currently, Audi offers the 3.0 TDI V6 at Rs 48.5 lakh, and the 2.0 TFSI supercharged petrol at Rs 42.5 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai. Like both models, the car will be offered with panoramic sunroof and the WCI package.

With this model, Audi hopes to expand on the sales of the Q5 that have been on a roll. In 2010, Audi sold a total of 3003 cars, ranging from the A4, A6, A8, Q5, Q7, R8 and TT. Keep reading this space for more BS MOTORING EXCLUSIVES.
