Audi introduces new twin-turbo V6 diesel engine for Europe

Audi may be busy preparing a lot of things for the Geneva Motor Show, but that hasn’t stopped them from introducing a new engine into their model range.

Called BiTDI, this engine powers the top-of-the-line diesels in the A6 and A7 model range internationally. Later in the year it may also see use in the Q7 SUV.

Fed by two turbochargers, the engine pumps out an impressive 309 bhp of peak power and peak torque sits at an amazing 66.28 kgm! With vitals like that, it’s no surprise that this engine claims to propel the A6 sedan from a standstill to 97 kph in just over 5 seconds. What’s more, even with such blistering performance the car manages to return a claimed fuel efficiency figure of almost 19 kpl!

There’s no information on whether this engine will make its way over here though, so sadly, we’ll just have to make do with the normal V6 TDI for now.
