James Bond's ride has finally arrived on our shores. Aston Martin, the Gaydon based manufacturer of supercars is now in India and has opened its first showroom here in Mumbai.
Speaking at a press conference, the company announced that it has opened its first showroom in the commercial capital, with the national capital to be the next. BS Motoring was the first to report, as far back as 2010 that Mumbai based Infinity Motors and Delhi based Deutsche Motoren will be the dealer representatives for Aston Martin in India. Both dealers have a target to sell over 50 cars in the first year of operations, of which over 30 cars have already been delivered.
Aston Martin will offer its whole range of cars in India, from the basic V8 Vantage to the ultra-exclusive One-77 hypercar. Prices of some of the cars in the range are as under:
V8 Vantage - Rs 1.35 crore onwards
Rapide - Rs 2.3 crore onwards
DBS - Rs 2.5 crore onwards
DBS convertible - Rs 2.7 cr onwards
One-77 - Rs 20 crore onwards
For the launch, Aston Martin flew down the One-77 which is priced at a stratospheric Rs 20 crore! This makes it more expensive than the Rs 12-14 crore Koenigsegg Agera and the Rs 16-17 crore Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport but slightly cheaper than the Rs 23 crore Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Only 77 units of this exclusive hypercar will be ever built and 71 units of the car have already been delivered. Rumouredly, Aston Martin have found a buyer for one of these cars in India, but we shall reserve comment for the time being.
Aston Martin will offer the V8 Vantage, Vantage S, DB9 coupe and convertible, the new Virage coupe and convertible, DBS coupe and convertible, Rapide supersaloon and One-77 in India.
