Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the much-awaited A-Class just ahead of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and boy is it a looker. The A-Class looks even slicker and swankier than the concept photos and leaked images that we'd been treated to, what with the diamond grille and swanky interiors too (yes, it even comes with carbon fibre dashboard insets).
The A-Class will come powered by four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines that range from 1.6 litre to 2.0-litres. All engine options feature direct inject injection, are turbocharged and also have start-stop functions as standard. The tranny options are six-speed manuals or a seven-speed DSG.
Mercedes-Benz will launch the A-Class with different variants - some much finer looking than others, like the one that looks like the A-Class Fuel Cell concept.
So when is the A-Class likely to head to India? Mercedes-Benz has said they will bring it to the country in 2013. And the car is likely to be priced around the Rs 20 to 25 lakh bracket.
