This is confusing. We've seen them all before and so have you, and we all know they couldn't be more different. Yet, being rivals in the same segment endows them with a sense of similarity.

Six degrees of similarity, that's what we have here in the form of six of the best premium 150s in the Indian market today, and we've pitted them against each other just so you're not confused anymore. Us too, for that matter. If you're looking for fun without financial ruin, look no further than this!

THE COMPARO STARTS ON THE NEXT PAGE>>

The gs150r looks big, but actually only the tank is big. Gs150r is really well-balanced and easy to ride. It has 13.4 Nm torque, so can ride slowly in city traffic. Also, it has 13.8 bhp power, so can ride fast on highways. It is one bike which has both good torque and good power also. Also, good features like digital speedo with gear indicator and 6th gear for highway cruising. Powerful engine, but no vibrations. Even all accessories like crashguard and sareeguard are provided by suzuki, no extra cost. Only pillion seat is little high, same like hunk pillion seat and maybe 1 inch higher than unicorn. Other than this, no issues at all. Once pillion climbs on seat, then the wide seat is really comfortable for pillion too. Build quality is really solid and will last long. In my opinion, this is the best commuter 150cc.

best bike in a 150cc & long drive a so easy, funny, average –50 to 52/p.ltr.go for it. Special For a bike 1) Tube less Tyre Both 2) Disc Break 3) Digital Speedometer 4)Gas Recharge Suspension

I think the result was fair enough when you take so called PURPOSE into consideration. The two winners Dazzler and Apache are for overall riding ability and sheer performance respectively. I would still pick Dazzler any day, followed by the FZ. I think people underestimate Dazzler's ability, it is one of the fastest 150 commutator bike.

Hero Honda Hunk is not that bad a bike. Having been using it for the past 15 months through around 16000 kms I am quite satisfied with this bike. Even after a Cochin-Bangalore 570 km ride, the bike held together for yet more 30 kms of gruelling Bangalore city commute. This is certainly a bike that is comfortable on long rides, over tough terrains and also delivers sustained performance through all weathers.

Ah , the new extreme is definitely a winner , the suspension is simply amazing . But the cost still pushes your mind to go for a hunk which is atleast 3k cheaper . But then again looks are subjective and I like the extreme's rear lamps and the clip-on handle . Good to see that pulsar was put to its place! :D r15 can't be compared to these , its aleast 30k costlier and its a class apart in terms of performance :/

I agree with all the comments, but FZ...Man,that's already in a different/higher league...This comparo is not complete...and yes,RTR is one cramped bike,,not for long rides at all,it just dies..

Dodnt really agree Apache is for short bursts, i have driven mine for 400 Kms with 2 stops without feeling any kind of tiredness at the end of it.

can it get anymore gay when you say to your friends "I love to ride my hunk"...whoever gave HH the idea to keep such a name.

yup hunk is best!!

Strong enough! then FZ will do stunning for you. The light weight and the high torque make the FZ performs amazingly as for 150. Else, the xtreme get 70-80kph in just 8 sec. which is one of the best in its segment as well for the milage. FZ & Xtreme are the lord for 150

I smell a HH bias! The Pulsar 135 is a potent performer (&frugal) that should have been included too. The Fz or the Dazzler or even the Apache should have been the winner- HH just keeps doing stickers, over designing parts and when it comes to real "performance", is outshined by all. Point to note- where is the R15?

Hunk is old and a boring bike. 150cc also means a style that Hunk doesn't have. Fz-S is the winner by miles and i couldnt believe that its wasnt the quickest of the lot in 0-50.

I wish we get a lighter & slightly smaller bike (like sz-r) with engine like gs150r (with engine balancer), neat looks like gs150r, plus rear disc brakes, diamond frame (like unicorn), monoshock (like fz), and kickstart retained. That would be the perfect 150cc. Unfortunately, no bike maker in India seems to have common sense.

Its sad Suzuki did not giv the bike for the test, but I can say that GS150 is a very good bike. Its ride quality is excellent.

FZ has a worth less engine , sure it has high torque but least performance & poor fuel efficiency . Even the 14% smaller pulsar 135's engine can outclass it.

I have driven the Hunk continuously for a 30km stretch. Does it have handle bar weights? My shoulder was aching continuously. The brake pegs are another pain point. They are good to look at, but a pain to operate since you have to keep your leg close to the frame in order to operate them when you negotiate city traffic.

I am very surprised that inspite of being the lightest in its class, the FZ-S has the worst performance of them all. Something's fishy here
Posted by Tejus at 4th May,2011
Hmmm..FZ is that good and it's not in your top FUN TO RIDE MOTORCYCLES list!! :P
Posted by yo man at 4th May,2011
Why not Pulsar 135 , it gives more performance & mielage than any other 150 .
Posted by Anand at 3rd May,2011
What a shame that suzuki could not provide a bike for this shootout. I think the GS150R would have given the Hunk a real run for its money.

What a gay name the winner has...but then again, that is something Hero Honda excels at: having the gayest possible names for all its products
