  • Practical, good-looking, styled right and with handling prowess to boot – the R8 always has been the perfect blend of practicality and performance. For 2013, its even better! Starting with the front-end, this Audi has received an evolutionary styling update with a single-frame grille, new bumpers, intakes and more sharply defined cuts all around. It’s meaner and more purposeful.
  • The Audi R8 was the first car to pioneer all-LED lights on the first-gen R8 in 2007 and now they come as standard, complimented by swoopy running lights. The styling all around has also been sharpened up, making the R8 look fresher and more purposeful. The trademark ‘side blades’ surprisingly still look really good, especially when finished in a carbon-fibre texture. Nothing radical here though
  • Using lightweight construction techniques, the Audi’s aluminum space framed R8 uses Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastics (CFRP), glass fibre-reinforced polymer (GFRP) chassis, reduced insulating materials and special light alloy to keep the weight down. The result? The R8 V8 Coupe weighs just 1560 kg.
  • The V10 Plus produces a very respectable 542 bhp at 6500 RPM along with 55.1 kgm of torque. With the S-Tronic transmission on-board, the V10 version hammers its way to 100 kph in 3.5 seconds and winds the speedo all the way to 317 kph. That’s fast as hell. On the other hand, the 4.2-litre V8 produces 424 bhp at a heady 7,900 RPM which makes the V8 go from 0 to 100 kph in 4.3 seconds, all the way u
  • With a tight, lightweight chassis and Audi’s intelligent all-wheel drive Quattro system in charge, there is no doubt this R8 will hammer out quick lap times around the track. The S-Tronic shifts gears without virtually any interruption to the power going to the rear wheels. Using cutting-edge Carbon Ceramic brake discs as standard with massive eight-caliper brakes, the R8 stops as well as it goes.
  • Yes, it’s more of that ‘luxurious yet sporty’ or ‘sporty-yet-luxurious’ stuff. On offer are new badges, new instrument cluster, bare aluminum finished elements and carbon-fibre bits to complete should be a fantastic place to be in. Our favourite bit? The bare aluminum finished manual shifter gate.
