  • The first car ever to be designed by Pininfarina for Ferrari. And it was beautiful, the vertical slot grille at the front, the long bonnet and the simple and elegant back end. Back then, it was powered by a 2.6 litre V12 engine capable of 150bhp and 225kmph. One of the very few that still exist was showcased at the Villa d’Este Concorso 2012 where it received an honorary mention in its class
  • Based on the 375MM sport prototype, this car was a one-off piece built for the film director Roberto Rossellini who then gave it to Ingrid Bergman as a marriage gift. It was based on the F1 single seater and even today, and looks a little like Detective McMissile from Cars 2. Owing to its competitive roots, no bumpers were fitted and the interior was functionally sparse
  • Ferrari's first series production car. The chassis and rest of the components were manufactured at the Maranello and then shipped over to Pininfarina to fit the beautiful steel body. It was powered by a 2.6 litre V12 engine capable of 240bhp, 241kmph and a sprint to 100kmph in 6.7s. This car went on to become the best selling Ferrari of that time
  • Widely regarded to be one of the most elegant Ferrari's ever made, the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso was part of the same 250 series that the GT Coupe came from. Powered by the same engine and a 4 speed gearbox, it was one of the few Ferrari's at the time that was not designed for racing. Designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti, one was auctioned off in 2007 for a price of $2.3 million
  • The last classic era ferrari, also one of the greatest. It went on sale at the same time as the Miura. Guess the late 60's was one of the golden eras when it came to supercars. The design was created by Lionardi Fioavanti. He once famously said, I worked for seven days without taking a break and then showed my ideas to Sergio Pininfarina. He liked them, as did Enzo Ferrari!
  • One of the most striking Ferrari's ever made, the Testarossa is one of those car designs that never gets old. The intakes on the sides were pretty large in size resulting in the elongated side strakes that eventually came to define the Testarossa. The grille at the front was a dummy and just housed the turn indicators. The repositioning of the radiator on the sides meant space for a larger boot!
  • Built to celebrate Ferrari's 40th anniversary, the F40 was a landmark car even by Ferrari's own standards. Built mostly using composites, the car was super light, 1100kg's for a car powered by a twin turbocharged V8 producing 470bhp. The F40 was nimble, agile and extremely quick. A flurry of orders meant over a thousand cars were made during it's production run.
  • The 456 GT was named so because each cylinder of the 5.5L V12 displaced 456cc. This was the firs time this naming scheme was employed by Ferrari. It was also the last time that pop up headlamps were offered on a Ferrari. Although it was conventionally, a 2 door, 4 seat coupe, a 4 door sedan and estate versions were also produced in limited numbers
  • Aluminium construction meant that this car was 25% lighter than its predecessor. It also offered a number of othe technologies that made it clearly superior to its competition. A tonne was reached in 4.3 s, and if you kept your foot down on the pedal, it went all the way up to 302kmph. Close to 20,000 units were sold making it one of Ferrari's all time best sellers
  • This was, and still remains, to date, Ferrari's Halo car. They were so proud of it, they decided to name it after the founder of the company. And it did total justice to that name. The doors were a cross between Lambo's scissor doors and the Delorean's gullwing style. The rear mounted 6.0 litre V12 engine produced 651bhp and hit the redline at eight, wait for it, thousand RPM.Whatacar! What ay car!
  • The 599 GTB Fiorano's shape was a result of long hours in a wind tunnel. The wraparound rear window was hugged by two flying buttresses, which channeled air towards the nolder, adding a highly original twist. It was a very different design from the company based in Maranello, one which was elegant, a departure from the radically designed Enzo
