  • Thanks to the Impulse having re-opened the on/off-roader chapter in the country, it's about time we can think of getting our hands on more serious stuff, right? Say hello to the Honda CRF 250L – a motorcycle that you might just be able to buy off the shelf very soon
  • The CRF 250L has a 249cc, Dohc, single-cylinder motor (more or less the same as the CBR 250R's) that produces 22.6 bhp@8,500 rpm and 2.2 kgm of torque at 7000 rpm. Being fuel-injected, you can expect the motor to be extremely refined and efficient
  • A 21-inch front wheel says it all – the 250L is no make-believe off-roader. It means business. At the rear is an 120 section 18-incher and both tyres are semi-on/off road spec, which should provide a fair balance between off-road thrills and good enough grip on tarmac
  • Upside-down forks up front, Pro-Link suspension at the rear, a steel twin-tube frame and an aluminium swingarm mean the CRF 250L will be absolutely game for anything you throw at it in the most treacherous conditions. If the Impulse is so good, we can't help but be excited about this one
  • Honda's official website states a 143 kg kerb weight for the 250L. So it's about as powerful as the CBR 250R, is lighter, thinner and taller. Know what that means? An absolute lunatic of a motorcycle, on the road and off it!
  • The 250L's minimalistic design doesn't mean it'll be any less feature packed. A disc at either end, a fully digital speedo, lots of add-on accessories and (at least from what we can tell from the pictures) excellent fit and finish will make the 250L an absolutely enticing buying proposition.
  • Apart from having less bodywork than the CBR 250R, the 250L is evenly matched on the kit front. As a result, we won't be surprised if it is priced very close the the Rs. 1.5 lakh mark. Can't wait, Honda!
