The Xylo factor

Who says you can't make a people mover with lots of passion? Presenting the Mahindra Xylo road test.
The Xylo factor

I simply love attending Mahindra launches. Not that there would have been too many in the last decade – but I have been to the Scorpio do, followed by the Logan event and so on. Actually I have been attending car launches by different car makers for some time now and it is time I got bored out of my bones doing this. But as I said, Mahindra launches are special. Why? Because there is a certain degree of passion that rules things here. People at Mahindra love doing the entire gig – sneak drives, presentations, song and dance, press conferences, plant visits, sneak advertisement previews… the whole thing is a mighty celebration and you have to admit, a very honest one too. Right from the selection of names for the Xylo's colours (Lucky Lilac, anyone?) to the passion with which Anand Mahindra defends his team for the four-year development span of the new car to the glitter in the eye of Pawan Goenka when he talks about the next two projects to the full-bodied excitement of Rajesh Jejurikar when he explains how the "era of sedans is over" to the 'calm-as-an-ocean' look that Vivek Nayer manages just minutes before the launch… I am telling you, the stuff is infectious (you can see that the PR team and the event managers are bursting at the seams too with energy) and the atmosphere is more charged than that of a college election.

Needless to say, this team of professionals is extremely proud of the Xylo, and thankfully, the corporate masks that most car makers wear is now missing. Another four products down the line and Mahindra executives will start taking themselves more seriously. But as we speak, it is time to cherish and enjoy the simplicity, excitement and total honesty that comes only with hard-charging underdogs. To dismiss this enthusiasm as naïve would be a cardinal mistake, since the end result is an extremely well thought out and well executed product that will be sold aggressively. Unfortunately, the job of a road tester starts when the launch venue is dismantled. So I hit the road with the Xylo and tried my best to find faults. Here goes.

Looks and design
This is not a handsome car, neither by definition nor by divine proportion. To be fair, no people mover has any right to be "good looking." But what is disappointing is the fact that the Xylo is at war with proportions – it looks too narrow and too tall. Add to that the one-and-half box design that makes it almost a Scorpio Version 2.0, and we are talking a new genus altogether. The designers attempted to create SUV virtues in the Xylo and carried over the Scorpio's chromosomes into the MPV brief, complete with that seven slat grille. The saving grace is the new-age lighting fixtures (headlamps inspired by the Mercedes-Benz SL!) and exceptional fit and finish. The pronounced wheel arches and kinks on the C- and D-pillar impart some flair to the profile, while a proper hatch door on hydraulic struts would have been much more practical than the side-hinged rear door that has gone into production.
Mahindra say that there were inputs from an Italian design house "at the beginning", and I dare say the "segment-buster" idea that may have looked smashing on paper has resulted in a car that will be known for being "different." The idea to have mix-and-match bumpers for some variants is not very noble and could have started only as an unreasonable request from a marketing team looking for distinctiveness. I guess the Xylo is the kind of design that will take time getting familiar with. Till then, it will share the same parking lot in my mind where I normally abandon Ssangyongs. All Ssangyongs.

Interior and comfort
When the designers say that this car was built inside-out, you better believe them. There is loads of space inside the car and the flat floor indicates clever packaging indeed. Let us, for a change, begin with the rear-most seats. I am taller and broader than most crash-test dummies and I found the rear row extremely comfortable over 100-odd km (yes, I did travel sitting there, just to find out). I have travelled extensively with my friends and their children and it is usually the little ones who get thrown into the deep end of the cars (everything from Innovas to Endeavours to Q7s, mind you). And despite the window that does not roll down, I wouldn't mind volunteering to travel long distances in the back row of the Xylo. Sure, it is not a pleasant sight to see me get out from there, but to be fair on the designers, the captain seats in the middle row of the E8 variant that we were driving folded down without fuss at the flick of a well-conceived lever.
Needless to say, the front two rows are even more comfortable and there is enough space to get the seats to fold flat to make a 'business class' bed. Comfortable seats with armrests that can be adjusted for height and quality upholstery ensure that you don't miss your sedan. The aircraft theme continues with drop-down trays that can hold your snacks and drinks. I am sure there is a well-thumbed book on ergonomics at the Mahindra design centre, and the driver and front passenger are put at ease almost immediately by using some clever thought processes. What is not so agreeable, though, is the fact that you get to see design bits that are absolute after-thoughts. Like the multi-function module that has been glued-on to a rather well conceived dashboard and the cup-holders on either side of the gear lever that were, again, retrofitted with plastic bits.

Engine and performance
The Nasik-Mumbai highway is a work in progress – it has been one for ever – but I was cruising down the road when I glanced at the speedo. It read 120 kph to my amazement. That, dear reader, was the defining moment of this test drive. The Xylo was riding well and rolling along like a seasoned Toyota rather than a brand-spanking-new car. It had a full quota of passengers and reasonable quantities of luggage too, but it was happy keeping up the decent speeds without any worry. The 112 bhp four-cylinder CRDe diesel, with 24 kgm of torque, is branded mEagle and displaces just a few ccs short of 2500. This motor benefits from an improved breathing system and a reinforced cylinder block for lower NVH levels. Plus hydraulic lash adjusters, an auto tensioner for the belt and advanced engine damping results in refinement and increased reliability.
The five-speed gearbox though is not in the same league as the engine when it comes to refinement, but it is not so bad that you miss shifts or experience any judder. The gearing is meant for our country and that means driving in traffic is easier than in many 'adapted' machines. The only issue with the powertrain came up when we had to come to a halt while climbing uphill and behind a slow moving truck. It is easy for us to comment that a variable geometry turbo can do the job of more linear power delivery, but we reserve our judgment till further testing. A quick run with a Vbox strapped on to the car yielded 6.4 seconds to 60 kph and 16.4 seconds to 100 kph. Rohin, our road tester, was more enthused about the 165 kph top speed, which according to him, was achieved without drama and cannot be beaten by the competition. The Xylo ran our PET (Performance Evaluation Track) circuit in a quick 59.3 seconds – the kind of time comparable to litre-class petrol cars!

Ride and handling
The table-top mountains that give Nasik and its suburbs inimitable character formed the backdrop and the light was good for some still photography. But the approach road was not fit for sedans and was strewn with rocks. Maybe I was under the impression that I was driving a new Scorpio and not an all-new MPV. Without hesitation, the Xylo hit the dirt. And oh boy, was it happy to hit dirt. The Xylo is as capable an off-roader as the Scorpio is and we hear a 4x4 version will be available in six months' time. Imagine a 'crossover' variant (like the Fiat Adventure based on the Palio/Siena) complete with matt-black plastic shrouds, no chrome whatsoever and auxiliary lighting... you get a roomy, capable accomplice for some serious X-treme sport activity. There, I got a name too – Xylo 4X4X-treme!
I cannot pin-point any particular factor – it could be Mahindra's expertise when it comes to body-on-chassis architecture, perhaps it is the big wheel/tyre combo and partly the low-end torque of the mEagle motor that loves to churn rubble… but this is a dream car to drive on rough,
no-road situations. But what is even more surprising is its refinement on road. Hmm, no more room for ride and handling jokes at Mahindra's expense then? Yes, and a resounding yes at that. While the ride quality is good over all kinds of surfaces, there is a degree of excess body roll that worried me. The car felt very settled when loaded and while on a straight line, but when attacking corners, there was enough body roll to justify all the roof-mounted grab-rails provided inside (the one for the middle row was called a curtain rod by someone). A trip to our PET track was enough to prove that there is no need to worry about the body roll – but this is a minor flaw in a stunningly competent dynamic package based on a rather basic struts up-front and coils over damper rear set-up.

Verdict
I am tempted to drive a Xylo to Goa and become the first person to drive a Xylo there. Actually I can be the first to reach Khardungla too. The point is, with the Xylo, I can. And while at it, I can carry my neighbourhood with me in comfort. We got a mileage of 11 kpl, which is quite good for a MPV. There are issues though – there aren't any models available with ABS or airbags, not even as an option. So look elsewhere if you want a car that has the acclaimed active and passive safety measures (lots of sedans, hatches and even an MPV out there that offer it at a price). The entry level E2 version is priced at Rs 6,24,500, while the fully loaded E8 is pegged at Rs 7,69,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), so the Xylo is a lot of car for your money indeed. To sum up, the Xylo deserved a proper launch with enough song and dance. And I can't help but be happy for the underdogs who have delivered the goods.

Honest Review

This is one of the first honest review I had seen on this site. Congradulations & thank you. I received similar reports from local tour operators. The body roll is a little on the high side with just 2 passengers. However will full load it is not noticible and ride is more comfortable. It might not be a problem once you get used to it. And off course, the from grill is not a good sight. The big grill might look good on a much broader vehicle. M&M may have to work on the looks front so more. As of now for the price it is offered, it surely is candidate for VFM award.

The Headlights look angry and aggressive! I like! But,I am still trying to like that front grill! Looks like a cleft lip! After that grill everything is easier to get used to. Could not have some one said a n y t h i n g about that grill? Even if they had to continue the line straight (or a very shallow 'u') from one headlight to the other without letting it rise to that cleft it would have looked better! Would have made the front seem less taller too. Is anyone at Mahindra reading this?

sure looks ugly

Posted by NO2 on Tue, 20 January 2009 (permalink)
it looks ugly up front and from the sides as well the rear is good-just wish the sumo had that rear end. the stearing wheel does look as if it has been copied from the sumo

Average effort by an average company.

Not impressed. Just the fact that you yourself have talked about "sticking" an information module onto the dash says loads about how Mahindra operates. Whats going on ? Where is the footage of crash tests ? Information on what makes it safe, how bout some airbags and abs ? Safety should be paramount to Mahindra (and Tata for that matter) If they can put a silly screen onto the dash, they cam damn well add a few safety features. Did the designer sneeze repeatedly when he designed the front ? The rest of the car looks good. We are capable of designing better cars then this one. Mahindra took 2 steps forward with the Scorpio, and as a first attempt, its shortcomings were forgiven, but now with the Xylo, its a step back and cannot be overlooked.

I havent driven this vehicle.I expected a much better looking vehicle from M&M.This is ugly to say the least! The grill is yuckkk!! From the sides ,this looked to me like an extended Wagon-R.The rear does look decent but again ...to me ..this reminds me of the Tavera. My appeal to M&M-PLEASE CHANGE THE GRILL AT LEAST!!

Vehicle concept is good. Stylying is worst. It is not SUV. It is not mini van. It is in between.

Thank u Mr.Bijoy kumar, nice testing.it seems that Xylo is offered with lots of suprises & damn sure this will get enough support from customers who delighted scorpio.my own opinion is exterior & interior becomes less important after sometime, but what matters is "Comfort". this more imp factor which plays most imp role to feel costomer happy (value for money.)

I was planning to buy Xylo. This is the a very good feedback for me. Now I've decided to go for Xylo. Its a value for money.

Hats off to Mahindra

I mean - Come 'on , you have to give it to these guys. In a developing, joint Family, Mileage loving, Cost conscious country like India we had only one Mini van and that too was too costly for the common man to afford. Hats off to Mahindra for offering a product that is designed and priced for the masses. The product looks good, I don't know about the technical details of the safety features involved, but coming from Scorpio stable, it will not be that bad at all.

Nice test drive report indeed. It seems the target is Innova, so how would you rate the ride and handling of Xylo to that of Innova? Thanks Narayana

R Class?

It looks better than R class considering the price tag of ~700K.

For every Mahindra launch there is a huge buzz and its a huge hit. Only Indian company to compete against international brands and Xylo proves again for the fit, finish and other benchmarks. An ABS version of Innova costs 12L onroad, However, looking at the variants Mahindra could have provided a ABS + Brake Assist variant with additional 10-15K which I think customers will not mind since Hyundai's i20 has high end safety features. Also, mind controlling a MPV/SUV requires additional driving effort then controlling a Hatchback. I hope the additional variants are not far away.

Sad but true...BSMotoring needs to get a reality check. Where is the objectivity guys? The Xylo is a sub-par product which could have done better with more time spent at the design studio. You can imagine its just-about-there mechanicals. The Scorpio made up for its lack of mechanical prowess by giving customers a 'toned down' Pajero in terms of looks at least. It is not a bad product BSMotoring says...just if you can forgive the looks. But what is the point in this MPV when it is nothing but a me-too in a field dominated by the Innova? Do you think M&M can play this ball game with Toyota or even Tata (which is coming up with its own MPV)? We can forgive the Xylo's looks, but how can we forgive BSMotoring writers for simply vouching for everything they ride/drive? You should be a litmus test for the industry not just a happy drunk at product launches. Read Hunter S Thomson to understand how to write stuff about things that simply cannot be written about!

SINCERE EFFORT

Posted by VARUN NAIR on Thu, 22 January 2009 (permalink)
Hi there, just test drove the XYLO.About the looks, as BSM rightly said,it's not 1 of most good looking. But I look at an overall package rather than 1 parameter. The interior is good with above average materials. The ride was superb,no crashing over potholes or anything. For the asking price, the product delivers & delivers it good.My only concern is lack of safety features. ABS + AIRBAG should be avaliable as an option ,ASAP, at an additional 30k-40k on every varient.

M&M could make better

Posted by pavan on Thu, 22 January 2009 (permalink)
M&M provided a good and comfortable Xylo but the shape is not up to the mark the company might have rectify that, and also the safety , Hope M&M will show what real Xylo is in the future, Xylo is good for the comfort and cost for india, the ride is too good Any one can buy Xylo with out any hesitation

I wished that I could have been there at the design studio to make these so called "Excellent automotive designers" at mahindra realize how they are inching towards their own doom by trying to fool people with a design that cries for an instant plastic surgery. GOD forgive them for cheating the indian customers on the design front when they could have given something much better to match the money people would spend for this vehicle. How can we ever do justice to our ourselves this way???

Only thing thats going for it is its Indian and the price tag. Would be beneficial to Mahindra and also Tata to actually get some crash tests under the EURO NCAP regulations. Yes the car is cheap but at what price? Tata and Mahindra should really get the EURO NCAP tests and take cars tested for performance in Iceland, UK and Germany like every other manufacturer to prove to the world their products are competetive. Unless they do that they will always be considered inferior. Indians still have not got the concept of value for money or what a good car is yet. I hate to see ordinary Indians having false pride in Indian cars. C'mon Tata and Mahindra prove me wrong and make me happy!

Hey Suman, you need to know the reality before commenting on any indian manufacturer. 1. Euro NCAP is conducted by an independant agency for the vehicles sold in Europe. 2. TATA and Mahindra simulate and also conduct crash tests. All new vehicles meet European Frontal Offset crash regulations. 3. All new indian vehicles are tested all over the world. you need to visit appropriate sites to view the sneak photos. BE PROUD THAT INDIANS ARE MAKING WORLD CLASS CARS

The Xylo, albeit with the M&M DNA, is a better vehicle with several noticeable improvements. However, to take a leaf from the launch of the Tata Nano, a bare basic car - was remarked to be 'cute as a button' by analysts and TV anchors. Customers desire to own a car today, to predominantly "show off in style" amongst their class. The Scorpio as an SUV can be forgiven for not heeding this. However, most sedans in the C-Segment are simply glamorous Indian cars with features that are best considered pretty basic today in the west; ex. Honda City, Ford Fiesta. The Innova is cleverly positioned in that range with its E and G models, carefully leaving out all premium features to the top-end V model. I guess M&M got carried away a little too far about their DNA with the Xylo. But by pricing the Xylo aggressively, it should sell well. In good hope for want of a better vehicle, I wish M&M all the very best.

You know what? This Xylo is going to be a flop!! 'Xylo' is a cute name, and the car is the most 'un-cute' of all on Indian roads. Junta is not going to like it. The age to show-off that angry stubborn look is gone. Car/SUV/muvs all need to be more sexier and posh to look at. M&M better change their design strategy and make better designed cars/suvs and whatever. I say the design and maybe market study team did not do a good job. But kudos to their marketing team, its website rocks, check http://www.mahindraxylo.co.in. M&M might better hire some good original designers, rather than copy cats who know nothing but Ctrl C+ Ctrl V.

If those are your facts, then sadly cars not successful in Western Europe equals not good enough, not competetive, not World class. The whole world gets their best cars tested under Euro NCAP. Even the big American car manufacturers are designing cars in Europe just to meet EURO NCAP standards and sort out performance. Even Malaysian Proton, Perodua are at it. Motoring journlists in Europe practically tear cars apart testing for quality causing manufacturers to recall their products, improve quality, and sell it at the same price. As it stands now Tata and Mahindra are even worse than the Koreans and dare I say the Malaysians. Only success in Western Europe equals to successful cars.

There is a reason why many of us never appear to be happy with Indian cars and keep on criticizing their products. We are proud Indians who are desparately looking for that World Class car from Indian manufacturers. Not the Merc or BMW kind but atleast be at par with international successful models from Kia and Diahatsu. We want to see the Tata and Mahindra brands on Western European streets. This is the best time for Indian manufacturers to impress Western Europe because of the downturn and people want value for money.

Someone spending 7lakhs and up go for Innova legendary toyota reliability. if this xylo was priced 5.5 lakhs it would be very much fair in pricing for the base model and top end should be 6.5L in India Innova is the closest you can get in terms of minivans sold in US like Toyota sienna, Honda odyssey in terms of quality and reliability it woudve been nice if Mahindra had made a inova like body structure with sliding doors well heck! those who want a xylo go for it but do take atest drive in innova first

above average product

Posted by sumon on Mon, 26 January 2009 (permalink)
read the article and most of the reviews. best thing written about the xylo is 'ABOVE AVERAGE'. mahindra should take notice. the car is ugly, to say the least. from the side ant certain angles it looks like Tavera. patch-working makes good quilts, may be, but not a great car. after so much hype a car that his mother will hate. and performance, well above-average, and that is considered good. well that goes to show what our expectation from this company. about the review, BKY, u r so unhappy with the ceremony, product - both in looks and performance, it is evident in every line. why do you have to be so polite. r u afraid that mahindras won't allow u to their next launch? considering that their are three or four lined up i think the loss will be great. instead of such inane review, next time give details of the launch programmes and the naiveties displayed there so that we can have a hearty laugh.

Who bothers about the look ? this All Indian MPV Xylo is successful to bring back the crowd to showroom (walk in - long queue for test drive). Good for the industry. In a difficult time like this M&M team once again have made a car suitable for Indian application and improved the much needed Ride & Handling aspect. Better space management and customer comfort are the aspects impress you during the test drive. I agree that the styling could have been more aggressive but from some angles it looks great. Expectation of even better fuel average is some thing Indians will always have. Like the pricing but still ABS is something good to have feature for higher end. Innova dash board gives the feeling of cockpit but this Xylo goes one step ahead to give the experience with it's interior, comfort, executive class travel seat... Overall good rpoduct.

Identity

Posted by Go ahead on Tue, 27 January 2009 (permalink)
I strongly feel that M&M should not change the grill styling much as it has become the identity for M&M and do not understand why we do not object on Mercedes, BMW grill extensions... It takes time to create an identify and to build a brand. India is emerging as a country with the capability of developing a car from conceptualisation to production. The vehicle looks better in person than in pics.

Mahindra has the formula

Posted by Srini on Wed, 28 January 2009 (permalink)
Mahindra builds to a formula... build cheap tin boxes ... have good publicity, get a few motoring "experts" to write rave reviews and pull the crowds. Most buyers just go by looks, very few question about safety features, technical specs... front suspension is struts ?!! This is supposed to be a family car?!! I am afraid it will end up as another taxi fleet vehicle, accident prone ... and no one questions why so many people die in the unsafe vehcile ... another glorified Sumo... put a powerful engine on four wheels and a molded plastic shell around it ... cheap and powerful car ready ...now go get some people killed

Indian Designs going downhill

Posted by Vishwas Gaikwad on Thu, 29 January 2009 (permalink)
My father owns a Safari back home. And I love that SUV for its looks. But not a single Indian car in recent past has been able to match the good looks of some of the designs from yesteryears. Take a look at new Sumo, Xylo, Xenon.. Either the designers are underestimating the aesthetic sense of Indians or trying to be radical like Chris Bangle (which I doubt). And compare them to the some of the older classics like Indica, Safari, Bolero, Sierra. The designers are trying to make them look flashy. Maybe its just me, but I can't imagine buying any of the new cars I've mentioned. The design of Xylo is very boxy and rear looks inspired by Tavera, rather than sleek Innova (as it should be). The Indian designs are looking more like the crap coming out of Russia and former Soviet states. While the older designs were classy. I guess nobody is listening and the buyers of these cars don't care but I believe there are people out there who agree with me.

that was a good review of the new xylo. For starters i am sure happy tht mahindra came up with something new years after the scorpio. but they took four years and then they came out with an SUV that has an oversized grille, a mismatched rear end,a multi info module that looks like an after thought. It is about time mahindra got things spot on the first time itself.... they cant do another scorpio here which came with scary body roll and lousy driving position when launched and then they had say "oops sorry we will fix it and give it to you" by the time things are sorted out with the car it is nearing its production run and people would have seen enough of the ones on the road that they no longer want to buy them when they fix all the problems... For once why not mahindra outclass others in terms of sheer quality of the product instead of undercutting the competition in terms of price????

people mover ... dont people deserve a decent lookin ride

some people are using word people mover in a sense like oh the looks are fine for a people mover as if people are like cattle and dont deserve a decent looking ride. the manufacturers are always looking to cut corners all Indians should demand that all cars should come with airbags else no one's buying it. its hard to imagine that manufacturers are truly taking the people mover tag to heart and dont care a dime for people's safety or driver safety

I have gone through all the reviews, about its variants, safety features, specifications and lot more, and honestly feels that M&M had once again proved that they are the best. COMFORT:Such huge space in this car....Feel Home away from Home. Its flatbed idea is just wonderful...but it is not advisable to sleep, while somebody is driving beside you. COLOURS:Masuline and feminine colours are versatile. I prefer Black And Grey, Black always go good with men. Last but not least, M&M tried and succeseded, to pack XYLO with all sedan features. Hope they will be sucessful in International Market with all new XYLO.

Gear shift

had taken the Xylo for a test drive everything is alright the interiors, space ,decent dashboard ,individual AC vent for all the rear passengers, wide seats with good view and seating position for the driver but the Gear shift was too hard and tight also to blow the horn u need to hit the center of the steering wheel. but at this right price I feel most of the big Indian families who prefer space, mileage ,low maintenance, cheap spare parts and service would go for Xylo.

Mahindra needs a good design firm

Great concept. But poor external looks. I think the vehicle looks like a face with the upper lip bashed up. Poor styling. the headlamps are weird. The unusual edge bump on the headlights were unnecessary. Otherwise great 'vehicle'. I would not buy it...coz its FUGLY.

sounds great if only it looked better

yes the car seems good after reading the road test but then again i cant live with something this ugly, mahuindra is actually competeing with ssangyong for ugly mpvs it'd have been far more digestible had mahindra opted 4 a bland styling instead of this mutant bovine after crash test look i'd rather buy a sumo grande or even a tavera for that matter cuz i cant have a something this ugly in my backyard as for the launch mahindra did the same half hearted thing with the logan also i thought maybe its a renault which is why such step motherly treatment but this is mahindra's very own product come on mahindra it'd have costed u the same had u made the grille and headlights slightky different to look beter than this

xylo has superb road grip & excellent suspension

Xylo is indeed a fantastic MUV for Indian roads. It has great styling & equally comfortable driving wise. Interiors are OK but the car over looks very powerful. Hope it gives best driving results in terms of fuel & maintenance. Looks like value for money vehicle.

This is the shot

Hi guys, This is the shot that will get away to boundry lines.Xylo will win the race. My suggestion to M&M is, please change the grille. That's all you need. All the best. You would not like to throw away best vehicle just for grille. REGRDA,

XYLO

i have gone through all the reviews and have taken a test drive of Xylo also, well it was like love at first sight, well if u will examine it carefully then u can find many negatives in it, but i would like to ask is there any SUV which is flawless, tavera looks ugly, safari and scorpio are broad and heighten ao they look bulky, innova is lenghty SUV's are meant to be look either bulky or lenghty. i admit that it is bit lengthy but if u will sit in last row u will find the answer. grills headlights bumpers provide looks not comfort.Xylo has serious look which suits its personality, is has better suspension, better ride control, more spacious. it has all the features to become the SUV of the year. and lastly on 19 i will be a proud owner of XYLO.

wait and watch

from the reviews i feel xylo should be a good buy, looks apart but then beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Given the indian lifestyle i heard that the xylo does not pack ample luggage space or is not designed to carry people and stuff together, any comments on this one

we love it 12000 bookings need to say more

hi guys, its a great car u love it or hat it, i was planning to buy a innova but when i checked the prize it was 11lacs for g4 model, but when i checked xylo it was 745000 for a e4 i took the test drive a booked it, the reason is simple i am saving 3.5lacs and know i can also buy a small car instead wat else one need, i agree with looks but that what others see, what matters is comfort which is far more better than innova, and guys its a indian product where its always VFM, if you need style then go for pajero and prado, at this price tag its the best bargain. and the engine life is 5lacs KM, does innova has it no way its just 2lacs km with love XYl0
